I’m a huge fried chicken snob. I’ve never had the opportunity to try Popeyes before. I must say that they nailed this. I tried the chicken tenders with the new signature sauce (absolute fire) I also had a two piece meal with a thigh and a leg, outstanding. If you love fried chicken and you want it with a little southern spice (not hot, just spice) then head to Popeyes for a real treat.

Went for lunch there yesterday (during a not busy time). I ordered the 2 piece spicy chicken which should be a drumstick and thigh but instead I got a drumstick and breast which was not spicy and COLD!!! I also ordered red beans and rice that were COLD!!! The biscuit that came with the meal was also COLD!!! All this after waiting for 15 minutes to even get my food!!! Not only that but there was Spanish music playing super loud on a Bluetooth speaker. I could hardly understand the cashier because he had broken English.
Normally I would go out of my way to eat at a Popeyes but this was the most disappointing visit I have had EVER!!! Furthermore serving food this cold could cause someone to become very sick and would definitely give the company a bad reputation. Hopefully something is done about this and no one else has this experience. I will not be returning to this location ever again!!!

I ordered online. I waited 15 minutes before I went to pick my food up. I get to the speaker. Told me to pull up to the 2nd window. I waited there for 10 minutes before anyone came to the window. Then the guy said I needed to wait 5 more minutes because they ran out of chicken. I explained that I ordered a long time ago. He said they were busy and ran out. No one is here. I have been in drive thru for 30 minutes and still no cars are behind me. So frustrating. Hoping and praying my food is good.

I love popeye chicken but the stoughton popeyes doesn’t even come close to any of the Madison locations. I get the wrong pieces of chicken from what i order and most of the time and the chicken doesn’t taste like what I’m use to from popeyes. The biscuits never taste like butter and are usually hard. It’s extremely disappointing because I was excited when I first heard there was gonna be a popeyes in town , but I’ve been disappointed time after time from this location. I hope it gets better but I doubt it.

This review comes from six separate experiences in the last 4 months at this Popeyes. I’m either a slow learner, or eternally optimistic. I have seen the light and will not hope again that my order will be gotten right or that my food will be fried so I don’t have to chew through the flour coating. Tonight in the drive thru, I was asked to pay twice for two different orders because no one stays in either of the two drive thru windows for more than one transaction. I was given the order for the car behind me – I knew this because that was the second order I was asked to pay for. Due to a previous experience in September at that window, I knew I would not see another human at that window for at least 10 mins so I pulled ahead and parked, went inside and calmly began to explain the mix up. I got three sentences into my problem when another beleaguered customer came in with a completely wrong order also that he was upset enough to describe while I was trying to discuss mine. Amazingly, we tag teamed our complaints because they were running completely parallel. 1. No correct order in 4 months. 2. A ridiculous wait time at the payment window and the pickup window. 3. Food that was not fully cooked or didn’t get to sit under a heat lamp after being cooked (cold). 4. The more clarifications made during the order the more wrong the order. He and I left as friends.
If you are desperate to have deep fried chicken and you don’t mind the surprise meal you didn’t order. And you like to sit for 5-10mins at service windows that are not occupied; this is the place for you and Godspeed to you! I will not try again.

was in the area just after 10am… hankering for one of their delicious spicy chicken sandwiches. (website & front door confirms they open at 10)
drive thru order screen wasn’t illuminated, so i just pulled ahead to see if i could order at the window. the guy inside ignores me. ok, i guess i’ll just go inside.
doors are locked. i get it; you’re running a little behind this morning. but it is 17 minutes after you (supposedly) open. make eye contact with guy at the fryer behind the counter. he puts his hand up as if to say, “just give us a second, this other guy will come let you in.” no problem.
except they never come let me in. just kept ignoring me. and (after standing in the foyer for like 8 minutes) i’m not above making a spectacle at this point; so I’m banging on the door pretty loudly. those 2 guys won’t even look at me now. sO annoying.
i walked around to the drive-thru window one last time, to see if the manager-type would address me. nope, he stayed in hiding.
i drove away at 10:29, very confused, perturbed, & hungry. nice customer service, fellas.

My first time ordering chicken from here. The person that took my order was great. Problem was with the chicken. I bought the original bone in chicken. When I got home with the food I couldn’t eat the chicken. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes though. After taking one bite of the chicken I started feeling sick. It didn’t taste like chicken at all, it tasted like deep fried shrimp. Should not deep fry poultry and seafood in the same fryer, shrimp has a stronger flavor and will be absorbed by everything else. Those that have seafood allergies beware!!!
