On a search for properly good chicken tenders, after trying a few local businesses, I moved on to Popeyes. A lot of other chains/restaurants put too much stock on seasoning and end up oversalting, or making a chicken tender that precludes itself from certain sauces.
This is not the case with Popeyes. Not too salty, a great fry, and works well with all kinds of different sauce (you can forego their signature ‘chicken dipping’ one, though. It’s just barbecue with extra steps). They’re mild, well-fried, and therefore versatile, tenders.
If I were able to give them 6 stars I would, as they store very well in the fridge and keep their crisp, more than I can say for many others. Their fries are also great, and the honey biscuit is… inoffensive, if not outright ‘good’/not dry.
Also, it’s a Popeyes; rating the service and staff, as well as atmosphere, is kind of tone deaf; it’s 2026 (at the writing of this review). On the tenders themselves, I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest, actually pretty impressed, for being such a large operation.

Service is fast sometimes and sometimes I wait forever. Not consistent. Atmosphere? I never eat inside. Not applicable? LET’S TALK ABOUT THE RED BEANS & RICE! The small amount I’ve gotten the last FOUR TIMES was ridiculous. Popeye’s sides are amazing and they’re expensive, so when I get a regular container that’s only a THIRD FULL, if I’m lucky, it just doesn’t seem right.

I placed a $160 order for a crew of 11 working on my house. I downloaded their app and placed the order. It’s almost 10 miles from my house. When I got to the store to pick it up they had all the doors locked, and signs stating “Sorry Maintenance issues”. I knocked on the door to see if I could get them to cancel my order and refund me the $160. The lady inside just threw her hands in the air and pointed at the sign. I held my phone up to the window and yelled to tell her I need a refund. She just turned away and after I continued to knock on the window she went in the back so I couldn’t see her anymore. I went across the street to KFC and purchased from them and headed back to my house. While I was waiting on the KFC I used the Popeyes app to put in a claim. On the way back to my house I looked at my phone and seen Popeyes had sent me an email. The Customer Service rep (what a joke) demanded that I send pictures showing that the store was closed. I guess they don’t know how to call the store to verify they are closed. Demanded to provide the burden of proof, how can this be a Customer Service procedure! Anyways I had to get the KFC back to the crew. I then drove back (20 mile round trip) to get the pictures. I submitted the pictures but in the meantime they sent me another email saying my claim was closed. I have emailed, called and I get nothing. They processed my payment and it doesn’t look like they have any plans on refunding me. A week later I went to the store and talked to the manager, he said there was nothing he could do and that he was on a very important phone call. I have never experienced anything like this, not even close. Oh I forgot to mention that when I went back for the pictures there were 2 employees sitting at a table, when I tried to get them to get the manager one of them gave me the “I’m on break” motion with his hands and just laughed at me. They did write “closed” on top of the signs by the time I went back for the pictures.

Waiting to place our order, I noticed the filthy floor near the prep line. An employee saw me point at it and promptly did a cleaning. The front counter person seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the job, and had a hard time moving around. Kudos however, for hiring a senior. Our food tasted fine. Just the right amount of spices. I think cleanliness is extremely important. Attention to detail is top priority.

I went here because my son wanted Mac and cheese and KFC said they were out. So across the street I came and Popeyes had what we wanted. Unfortunately not the portion size I thought I was getting paying $3.99 for a side of Mac n Cheese. It was a measly scoop and I was rather disappointed. Images online show a full cup and what I got was laughable at best. One of my chicken strips was not good at all, maybe a bad cut of meat? Also I waited for quite some time at the order screen. Well after the person in front of me made it to the window, received food and then left. A few moments later they finally take my order even though it was not busy at all. Not the first time I’ve had issues at this location, I really do hope they improve as the food is actually good tasting.

On February 17th 2026 i went to this Popeyes with my daughter to get some lunch. So first off, we were told when we got our food that they had no napkins. How does a restaurant run out of napkins? I have never heard of that before and I’ve been eating at restaurant for sixty years. Second, we had to wait like 15 minutes for the order. It was a mobile order that we ate inside the restaurant. But I don’t think it should have taken that long because their was maybe only two other people in the restaurant at the time. Lastly i think that $3.99 for a large sprite is a little excessive, don’t you?

The macaroni and cheese were so good! Better than Chick-fil-A macaroni and cheese, I almost didn’t save any for a picture. Chicken, biscuits, and fries were hot and fresh. Had to wait a couple minutes but so worth it! Ms. Queen and all the staff were amazing.

My wife and I had a very unsatisfactory meal at this location. Both tender meals were obviously sitting for some time. The tenders were barely warm and dried out
We usually enjoy Popeyes but I don’t think we’ll visit this location anymore.
