At this point i need to stop going here. since yesterday me and my fiancé wanted chicken and from popeyes especially! First the location says it’s supposed to be open till 1am AND we checked ahead of time so pulling up at 12:20 shouldn’t be bad. We waited in line for 25 minutes just for another CUSTOMER to say the store was already “closed” all lights and everything on nobody saying nothing to us in drive thru or anything but inside talking in the kitchen avoiding people.( always terrible customer service) So we decided to try again tonight 09/13/2025 @9:30. And this was the result of our decision when i was looking forward to mac n cheese. i’m surprised everything else was actually ok. Everything about the overnight team here is terrible. they need to change it.

If I could give this specific store a zero I would. Every Single time I come to this location it’s always something from the employees being rude and mad ALLL THE TIME. I never have any problems with NO other Popeyes in Tampa just this one lactation. It sucks that this is the closest location to my home. Driving to the one on hillsbourogh and 22nd be worth the drive because this Popeyes location near WaWa is the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered at any fast food restaurant. I real hate coming here never have I ever had a good experience here. The owners need to do better with their hiring.

Yesterday on August 13, 2025 arrived at the HardRock Hotel for a quick get away with hubby. Had graving for some Popeyes found one across the street WORSE MISTAKE OF CHOICE…… NEVER AGAIN we usually are pretty good checking review first before we stop to purchase any food. This time we didn’t…… NERVER AGAIN THIS WAS BEYOND THE WORSE STOP AT A POPEYES I’VE EVER EXPERIENCE. Worker are rude, nasty after finding hair in my food they got into a defense mode denying the hair and stating to me “””Don’t you see everyone has a Hair net like if I work in the back and conducting inspections. IDIOTS I am definitely reporting them to the state health department. Yes I ate some of it until I came across hair I had to pulled out my teeth DISGUSTING . My husband and I left back to the HARDROCK HOTEL CHANGE BRUSH MY Teeth WENT AND HAD A BETTER QUALITY DINNER INSIDE. OMG WHAT A BAD EXPERIENCE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE DON”T GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SICK MAC&CHEESE TASTED SPOIL CHICKEN LOOKED LIKE IT WAS REPEATEDLY COOKED IN OLD OIL BISCUIT SOAKED IN BUTTER. Thankfully I didn’t even finish the food I’ll probably have food poison. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL WORKERS STARTING WITH THE MANAGERS.

Consistent with the other complaints about this location’s rude employees and habitual penchant for asking customers to come in and pick up drive thru orders when they could have handed it over at the window. Last night, they asked me again to go inside citing I just placed my order on the app so I need to pick up inside. As soon as I got in, my order was ready in a sealed bag! The manager was not remotely apologetic and even defended their laziness instead. Honestly, they may have the best chicken, but the service and attitude of their employees are the worst. I would not even hire any of them to wash dishes. Read the other reviews from other people.
Update:
Although I appreciate the response from the owner, I understand it is quite challenging to find good workers especially in food service. I suggest the owner sends a secret shopper to experience first hand how the employees here do not have a single morsel of good customer service in their bones. Unless they are replaced, the poor service will remain.

Absolute waste of money!!! The mac&cheese is gross looks and taste like it is days old. The 2 chicken sandwiches I got are hard as a rock even thought they are caked in mayo. Will be my last time going to Popeyes that is for sure over priced crap product put out by over paid employees

If I could give it zero stars I would. I’m never one to complain, I rather just not return but this is the closest Popeyes to my house and I wish it got better. I’d come more often but every time its sooooo bad. The customer service is terribleeeeee. Either its closed inside or closed for drive thru. I get that you can be understaffed, not have certain items available, need a little more time to prep orders but omg if you are polite it can really go a long way. Why do they have to be soooo rude??? I can be patient about a lot but not that. They are so unprofessional. Playing around when their drive thru mics are still going like I can understand you wanna keep it light while you work but how can you be playing with your coworker and then be so nasty to your customers.
Tonight 11/1/25 8:30pm tried to give it another chance, did a mobile order to set myself up for success, and when I get to the drive thru I announce we have a mobile order and automatically the lady says something which we couldn’t understand, we are calling out for her but she is playing around inside so she doesn’t hear us. We pull up to the window and she yells at us “Im not taking orders in the window” and walks away so we banged on the window to tell her we had a mobile order and she says you still have to come in. Mind you the app said our order was ready and we saw it on the mobile orders display, all she had to do was ask my name to confirm and just pass it to me. But she made me still go inside to pick up my order. Once I got home, we realized they didn’t give us our fries.
I like to show grace especially to people in customer service because I know firsthand how difficult it is but this location is consistently terrible which has to be bad for business and also is just so frustrating for the customer. Please do something about this. Apologizing on peoples reviews is not helping.

they get 0 stars from me.. the night shift manager Ms Wick was very rude. I ordered my food online so i wouldn’t have to wait. I get home to eat my food and i noticed that i was missing something’s so i called and was told to come back and get it. Now when i arrive it’s a big deal over the food they didn’t give me. i wasn’t even gone from the store 20 minutes. i just asked for the food or the money and didn’t get either one. So i just left so they wouldn’t continue to mess up my day. The food was also cold . One of the worst experiences i’ve ever had trying to get fried chicken.. Smh and not only was the female employees rude to mean .. the other customers also. RUN DONT GO HERE!!

I ordered online and went to pickup my food. I set my time to pick up my food exactly when I got there. I got there and said my number to the clerk, she looked around for it and went back to make orders. I assumed my order wasn’t ready and I remembered to order a red beans n rice and used the kiosk to do so. My red beans and rice came out before my food. I waited a minute and gave her my number again. She went back to where she looked the first time and my food and handed it to me. Then said we go by name and not numbers. Although the email clearly said to give my order number. When i get my food I asked for a sweet heat, the clerk was rude again and said I had to use the kiosk. I politely asked again just to make sure she wasn’t mistaken what i asked for. And she said again to get a sweet heat I had to use the kiosk. I got out of there so quickly before I said something terrible to the woman.

I went in for biscuits and some rice and beans. I asked for honey for my biscuits and the manager just points down at the spot where they’re supposed to be, which they weren’t. Then walked away not oh I’ll get you some sorry we’re out wasn’t being rude just asking for condiments that are supposed to be offered. Wouldn’t recommend at all. The owner must not care at all about customer retention and just hope he gets alot of traffic. Because 1 time here will probably be your last time you come here. Forwarded is forearm
