My fellow Americans,
Today I want to share my recent experience at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
Let me begin by saying that the employees were fantastic—professional, kind, and doing the best they can. My concern is not with them.
My issue is with shrinkflation—and at this point, I’m not even sure the word fully captures what Popeyes is serving. For a restaurant chain that began in one of the lowest-income states in the country, an area shaped by poverty and struggle, you would think they would understand the importance of giving customers real value for their money.
If you look at my photos, the pieces of chicken—drumsticks and thighs—fit entirely in the palm of my hand. That is unacceptable. Americans helped build the Popeyes empire, and in return, nothing about the food should be shrinking.
This is a disappointing moment for customers nationwide, and Popeyes needs to do far better with their meals, their sides, and especially their so-called $20 “family meal.” What kind of family does Popeyes think we’re feeding? No one can reasonably eat this and walk away satisfied.

I recently visited Pop Eyes, and the seating area was quite nice and comfortable. I ordered the Big Box, which comes with two pieces of chicken, two sides, and a biscuit. The chicken was decent, and the fries were okay. However, I was a bit disappointed with the mashed potatoes and biscuit, as they didn’t meet my expectations in taste. Overall, it was an average experience.

Best fried chicken, chicken sandwich and apple pie that you can get from a fast food restaurant. But it’s fast food so forget about service and atmosphere. They also get your order incorrect pretty often, so check it before you leave. I go for the fried chicken as it’s really good

This Popeyes restaurant location was a great stop. Clean, friendly, staff were all attentive, informative and helpful. You can’t never go wrong with some fried chicken + honey + hot sauce. the green beans are good, so are the cajun fries. At this location the bathrooms were nice and clean kept. I also notice the positive reinforcement that the staff had up as a team, “There’s heart in every piece.” Loved it!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE. I waited 30 minutes just to place my order. After telling the young lady what I wanted 3x I don’t know if she was having speaker issues. The chicken was undercooked, I get sick just thinking about it! The fries were old, and Mac and cheese greasy. I normally check my food before I leave, however I was tired and ready to get home. I paid 39 for garbage I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I tried calling the district manager number listed on receipt no answer! I called corp, only to text a bot. VERY DISAPPOINTING VERY DISGUSTING. Stood at register waiting for the manager to find her keys in order to get my change. Been Waiting for approximately 20 minutes for my food. Had a friend with me who got passed over so the cashier could serve 2 other people who were behind us. Even after telling him that she still needed to order he kept her waiting. She got her food before I got mine although I placed my order way ahead of hers. When her food came it was cold and just thrown in the bag haphazardly. The chicken was so tough that she couldn’t even eat it. Currently still sitting here waiting for my food as we speak. Been over 20 minutes now. Manager acted as if she had an attitude towards the fact that they messed up the order after addressing the situation with her Very disappointed with the service and the food at this establishment. Don’t waste your hard earned money here . VERY, VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED.
