This spot is conveniently located right off the highway, making it an easy stop if you’re craving some chicken. The food came out piping hot and fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of fries—even though I only ordered a regular size. The sweet tea was also really good.
The only reason I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 is due to the cleanliness of the dining area—it could definitely use a bit of tidying up. If they improved that, this place would easily be a 5-star stop. On a positive note, the staff behind the counter were very friendly and welcoming.

Placed an order on the app an hours before closing to get there to be told they are out of chicken and tenders. I asked to refund my money they said they cant because I placed the order on line. I go to the app to cancel and it says I cant because its always been processed. I call the store. Keisha the manager tells me they were only out of tenders because they are frozen when I why would you say chicken and tenders. I only ordered 3 tenders and 18 pieces of chicken. She then tells me they have been losing power all night and no fryers are hot. And them tells me this is what I get for ordering so late. I told her I dont pick her closing time and I should get the same service at night as I would during the day and ask that she just cancels my order so I can get my $63 back. She tells me no and I can come get the food…. HOW??? You didn’t want to work so you tell people your out of food to get them out the way. You probably need to find a different job. And people wonder why service in charles county sucks… it starts with the management. Take pride in your work and lead your team to do the same and provide great service from the 1st customer of the day to the last. They stole my money at this point.

That’s 21 minutes for fast food. At that point I thought the chicken was being hand-raised out back.
All this over one ranch cup.
You got your last $45 from me. Slow service, petty policies, and zero common sense. I’m out.

I had a great experience at Popeyes thanks to two truly stellar employees Gloria & Francisca!! From the moment I walked in, they were friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming. They handled my order efficiently, answered my questions with a positive attitude, and made sure everything was correct. You can tell they take pride in their work and care about customer service. Because of them, this visit really stood out—huge shoutout to these two for making my day and representing Popeyes so well!

Just left the Popeyes in La Plata. I ordered a 12 piece meal and specifically asked for “no thighs.” The girl waiting on me repeated it back to me and I confirmed. Got home and found no breasts but a lot of thighs. Either the girl working the counter needs better training to tell the difference between a thigh and a breast, or she did this because she just doesn’t care. Either way, for the price of a 12 piece meal, this is extremely frustrating.

Placed a mobile order. Spent an hour in the drive-thru, got to the window to receive my food and was missing parts of the order. Was asked to pull up for 6 minutes while they dropped fresh chicken filets. After 10 minutes of waiting, I walked inside and had to track down someone to speak to. A gentleman finally comes around the corner for me to be able to ask him what is going on with the rest of my order. After two more minutes of waiting he finally comes to the counter with my chicken sandwich. The young man did apologize though.

The chicken just doesn’t taste good anymore. As if the recipe isn’t being followed. Bland, inconsistent batter, on the chicken. Mac and cheese tasted like it had soap in it. Just completely disappointed with the purchase of my hard earned money expecting one thing, and getting something else that unsatisfying. I’m done with Popeyes!
