This has been our local Popeye’s since they opened a few years ago. Food is good and fresh, hard-working staff that keeps their cool even when dealing with not-so-pleasant customers. We mobile order and food is usually ready to go on time. They always put the right sauces that you asked for in the bag. This is a big deal, because I am sure we all have experienced the disappointment of not getting the sauce wanted.

Also, I want to give a special shout out to the person that made the macaroni and cheese on Sunday, February 8, 2026. YOU KILLED IT! That was some of the best Mac and cheese that I’ve had in a while. My compliments to the chef!

See you again in a couple of weeks!

This place is not what it used to be like when it first opened none of the employees care anymore. I requested for all of my food to be fresh waited for fresh food just to get in the car and my food to be cold. It’s one thing to get the food in a rush and it’s cold but to wait for it and it’s still cold makes me feel they deliberately had me waiting. Will not recommend this place anymore would’ve gave zero stars if I could’ve!!!!!

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW:

This is an update to my previous review regarding serious health and safety concerns at this location. Approximately 2–4 weeks ago, I reached out about a cross-contamination issue involving the chicken tenders. My mother, who is severely allergic to shellfish, ate the chicken tenders and within less than two minutes experienced a severe allergic reaction.

Following this emergency with my mom, my daughter also became sick after eating the food. Within an hour of eating, she developed symptoms consistent with a stomach virus and was sick the entire weekend. This raises additional concerns about the safety and handling of the food served.

After these incidents, I returned to the restaurant to see whether any signs were posted regarding food allergies, cross-contamination risks, or how the oil is filtered—anything that would appropriately warn customers with severe allergies. There were no signs posted addressing these issues. The only allergy-related notice in the entire location was about their chocolate beignet.

In my original post, I also mentioned that the service was poor and that the cashier was unfriendly, rude, and disrespectful. Given everything that has happened, I am now left to wonder whether something may have occurred with my order beyond just cross-contamination. The combination of unsafe food practices, lack of allergy warnings, and concerning customer service is completely unacceptable.

If this matter is not addressed immediately, my next step will be to contact the Westchester County Health Department so this issue can be formally investigated and appropriate corrective action taken.

ORIGINAL POST

Popeyes is not taking customer health or safety seriously. They are frying chicken in the same oil they use for shrimp, which creates a major cross-contamination hazard.

My mom is severely — deathly — allergic to shellfish. After taking just two bites of a chicken tender, she immediately broke out in hives, her lips and tongue swelled up, and she had to keep drinking Benadryl like water just to control the reaction. This could have turned into a life-threatening emergency.

On top of this serious health issue, the customer service at this location is terrible — rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. They showed no concern for what happened and offered no help.

This is unacceptable. Customers deserve safe food and basic respect. Until Popeyes addresses these issues, be extremely careful eating here, especially if you have any allergies.

The customer service of the guy who was there so uncaring. Told him wanted 3 flats and 3 drumelts.. nope its what you get. So he proceeds to throw out the original instead of just fixing it and its so disgusting because people are starving. Especially where he came from im sure. Why throw it out when others are hungry right in your backyard. Anyway then they forget my Mac and cheese soooo pissed when I got home. So tired of this one location always something

I think this place has improved with newer staff compared before very unorganized. They are nicer here compared to port Chester ones rude and won’t let you choose chicken. I usually ask for specific chicken and they give it to me without a fuzz. Thank you. Quick and efficient.

You’ll mostly get what you expect from a Popeye’s, but in a smaller no-frills environment.

I’ve visited a few times while in the area and this most recent time it was because I wanted to try the ghost pepper chicken sandwich.

In brief, it was tasty: crispy, hot, a bit of spicy heat, and naturally salty.

For people who enjoy spicy/hot food, you can expect rightly that Popeyes doesn’t go ham with the actual ghost pepper, unlike one memorable gastropub in Clark that used a dry rub.

So that means while you’ll taste a dash of heat when having one of their ghost pepper sandwiches, you won’t need to worry about essentially hitting yourself with the equivalent of pepper spray if you accidentally touch your face.

One thing of note is I found out when using the soda fountain, the lever next to Sprite that is labeled “Soda”, dispenses some flavorless seltzer, but the main lever seems to dispense the Sprite.

All in all, I’d order the ghost pepper sandwich again when having a craving.

Placed and paid for a pick up order on Thanksgiving day on the store app. The shop was actually closed when I arrived. The store didn’t update their hours on Google and their app. I even tried to call the day before and on the same day to verify the hours but no one ever answer the phone. I trusted the official app and wasted an hour on Thanksgiving and had to run to the grocery store to buy more food because they ruined my plan. I contacted customer service and they offered a $20 coupon (which is much less than what I paid) without refund the original payment. I had to contact them again to request a refund. This is their reply: “Upon reviewing your order details, it appears that you previously accepted the $20 coupon provided on 11/27.However, as a goodwill gesture on our end, I’ve processed a refund”. lol can’t believe they thing it is a goodwill gesture to process a refund for their mistake.

What a disappointment this was . It may have been the particular location I went to (near white plains) but the food wasnt great, soggy, limp fries , oily, greasy overcooked chicken pieces , soupy gravy, the only real saving grace was the spicy chicken burger , the addition of sauce, pickles and cheese really helped this along .I’d go back for a sandwich but the rest can stay . Had high hopes for this one but it didn’t hit the spot for me

A few weeks ago we wanted to do a chicken sandwich challenge to compare 6 sandwiches, including Popeyes. Not only did it take forever for one sandwich, the sandwich we were given (pictured) had almost no chicken (all breading), was incredibly over cooked, and completely inedible. When I went to pick it up the guy wouldn’t accept my screenshot pickup code. Stood there for over 10 mins after he claimed we never placed the order. Had to bring my boyfriend in, to which they then gave him this sandwich and asked me what I was waiting for, as if we weren’t together. Complained to the company and they said this location would reach out- they never did. We will never return to this location.

We got the 10 piece chicken for $27.99, for “white meat”. We picked up order and when we got home we only got 1 chicken breast and 9 wings— $27.99? Also the chicken was dry and burnt. Wasted my money!
