This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. The manager, Franco, was extremely rude and disrespectful from the moment I walked in.

I personally witnessed him yelling at his employees, treating them poorly, and even timing their bathroom breaks, which is completely unacceptable and inhumane. No one deserves to be treated like that at work.

When I asked for extra sauces, he rudely told me that “my chicken didn’t qualify for sauces” with a bad attitude and zero intention to help. It wasn’t what he said — it was how he said it: arrogant, dismissive, and unprofessional.

This place has a serious management problem. Until Franco is no longer in charge, I will not be coming back. Corporate needs to step in and fix this.

The chicken was bland. Just tasted like breaded chicken. No real spice or flavor.

The mac and cheese tasted cheap. The cheese was plasticy. The biscuit was… A biscuit.

3 piece combo was basically $14. A dollar shy of an hour at minimum wage for 3 pieces is insane.

Quick chek has better mac and cheese. Weis has bags of fried chicken with more pieces at half price.

Staff rushed me for my order when I was trying to check out the menu which was annoying.

Only positives were service was fast and the building was clean.

I had to go around the drive-through three times and still was not attended. Then I came in and stood in line for about 15 minutes before the person took my order. Then the small lady in front, whose face was like, “Don’t bother me. I’m working,” created just not a cool atmosphere, especially for a brand-new restaurant. I guess they don’t know the history of how restaurants work here in Hackettstown for them to last long. Oh did I mention I had to wait another 15 minutes before I had my food in my hand.

My husband just brought home two Classic Sandwiches. It was his/our first visit to Popeyes. The sandwiches were wonderful! The chicken was juicy, the condiments were perfect, and the roll was delicious. We were sorry that he did not purchase more and that we had not visited previously. We will be returning.

Was so excited for the Popeyes. I understand difficulties when starting. The first and second time I went, okay, pretty good, no real issues but you would expect improvement. This was during the first and second day of opening. I was excited.
Come a week, food and service quality plummets, attitudes behind the counter, food drop off in quality is disparaging. Got a 3 piece tenders, got 10 pieces of tiny chicken “strips”. I managed literally one bite from the mixmatch of garbage in the counter. The beans and rice were inedible(didn’t take a photo but just looked like they had been sitting for hours, honestly everything did). The service was also dismissive and just not hospitable. They were acting like they worked at a 6 year open business and had been there since the opening 6 years ago 7 days a week.
I have been avoiding going, despite my desire for good Popeyes.
My genuine assumption is the owners and managers who were present the first week, etc. stoped being there so consistently and this late night quality has dropped significantly.
For the price of the food, I will never consider going again until I’m sure the quality has improved significantly.
Seeing the immediate decline is demand was actually insane and the owners and management need to do something of this town won’t have a Popeyes for long.

Finally AfTer Years of Rumors and Waiting…WE GOT A POPEYES CHiCKEN!!! Overall iT was everything I expected it to be for Fast Food and being the First Time at this Location was an Awesome experience plus the Buffalo Sauce was Great. So many Dissing this place and for just opening the Doors people gotta stop being Keyboard Warriors and give them a Chance before bashing them. Make a few adjustments with the employees and forgetting things but, The Chicken was Fresh, HoT, and Crispy, The Mac n Cheese…Cheesy, The Biscuit with Gravy was Ok and I WiLL BE BACK.

‘No spice chicken now, if you still want to order I don’t know how long it would take’. That was their answer when I tried to pick up online order. It’s hard to understand there’s No spicy chicken available in Popeyes. Isn’t Popeyes known for Louisiana spicy as a blend of dried herbs and spices used to add bold, savory, and often spicy flavors to dishes.
Also, the service person’s attitude was absurd. She didn’t want to accommodate or comply to serve customer but avoid.

When I heard there was a new fried chicken spot opening in Hackettstown, I was genuinely excited, especially when I found out it was Popeyes. I love Popeyes. That said, this location has some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time.

To be clear, this isn’t a complaint about speed. It’s fried chicken, I fully expect to wait a few extra minutes and I’m fine with that. Good food takes time.

The issue is the attitude. The staff came across as rude, dismissive, and uninterested in helping. I’ve honestly had more pleasant interactions at a gas station at 6 a.m. than I did here.

I really want this location to succeed, but customer service matters. Right now, that’s the part that needs the most work.

This Popeyes is a masterclass in chaos, confusion, and pure incompetence. If there were a trophy for worst-managed fast food joint in existence, this location would proudly display it next to their ice-cold fries and missing items.

I’ve made the mistake—three separate times—of giving this place another chance. Every single visit, I ordered ahead on the app like a responsible adult, thinking I could waltz in, grab my bag, and head home. Instead, I’m left standing awkwardly in the lobby for 20 minutes while the staff pretend I’m invisible. My order sits in limbo as five employees shuffle around behind the counter like untrained extras in a sitcom.

Let’s be clear: it’s not that the kitchen is slammed. The food is premade, the chicken/sides are sitting in the warmer right in front of you. I’d put gloves on and serve myself if I could. Every minute feels like a social experiment in patience and regret.
By the time I finally get my meal, I’ve had enough time to reflect on my life choices and reconsider every other dining option within a five-mile radius. The only thing saving this review from total annihilation is the food itself, which—miraculously—is edible once it finally arrives.

By the time they hand you your food, you’ll have aged enough to qualify for a senior discount.
