Way overpriced on the drinks! $4 for a small drink is insane. At a regular Popeyes drinks were roughly $1.25 for small and $2 for medium, $3 for large. But I guess they want to be special here?
This overpriced drink has also inflated the combo price for a chicken sandwich. If you want a combo with sandwich fries and a drink it is now $13+ where Popeyes outside the mall used to be around $5 to $8 for the same meal.
I do appreciate that they have real plastic bags and plastic straws. I can’t tell you how many times I got paper bags that ripped or leaked all over me, my car, my floor or spilled food everywhere, or the bag disintegrated from getting wet in the rain. So I do appreciate this small detail. And I always reuse plastic bags for other purposes. But paper bags just always end up directly in the trash after 1 use.
The plastic straws just feel and taste better, do not turn to mush when getting wet, and don’t break if you squeeze it (intentionally or accidentally). Paper straws taste disgusting, break easily, turn to mush when wet, and they use harsh chemicals including bleach to create them. So I am thankful the management has them. Plant based plastic straws are also fine.
The apple pies used to be $1 but now they are $3.
As for the food quality, the chicken sandwich is ok, not great. It’s tied with McDonald’s and not as good as Chick-fil-A.
The apple pie tasted ok, but it was soggy instead of crisp. I think they no longer fry the apple pie, or maybe they fried it a few hours ago and just microwaved it now which made it soggy. I included a video showing how soggy it is. Years ago when McDonald’s had fried apple pies you could see the crispy bubbles fried into the crust and you could hear and feel the crunch in every bite. This pie today was a sad, and soggy mess.
Employees were slow and didn’t seem to know how to run a simple counter. 5 customers waiting. 1 guy taking orders but he seemed lost and kept wandering away while the line grew. A few guys in the back not doing much. The guy filling the orders also seemed confused. Luckily my order was made correct without any mistakes.

Worst experience at a Popeyes. Service took extremely long. After waiting for a while I went to ask if my order had been called but I was waiting for the blackened tenders which is understandable…as they’re made to order. The issue was that once the blackened tenders were ready the rest of my order had gotten cold. Not only that the wraps were poorly assembled with little to no cheese cold small and hard crispy tenders inside. I’m not sure if the time of day had to do with the quality of food but I only ate one and completely threw out the other wrap in my order—so disappointed.
