Visualize this, I walk in hungry after standing for 3 hours straight excited to get some food, thinking it would be good because of my past experiences. Tell me why I walk in there try and order something my grandma literally got yesterday and the lady said they didn’t have it… THE second WORST THING IS THE SODA FOUNTAIN, when I tell you this thing has not been cleaned in YEARS… probably DECADES, the seating also have not been cleaned, the chairs in particular. The worst part for me… is the GNATS!!!!! I’m over here fighting for my food because the gnats wants some too but i don’t know why. My grandma said “How you got flies in winter ” The food is soggy, oily, and served not even warm. This food is not even worth it, you’re better off getting food something else.

There’s a reason this place is rated so low. Stay away! Ordered spicy chicken sandwich and had nothing it was supposed to have in it. Fries were sitting there for God knows how long and the girl who took my order couldn’t stop talking to the other employees long enough to actually focus on taking my order. Place looks shut down and probably should be. Steer clear

Frequent/loyal Popeyes customer here! This is without a doubt the worst Popeyes franchise I’ve ever been to. It is so mis-managed, I don’t know how it’s still in business. As another reviewer wrote, there is a sign on the entrance with old post-pandemic hours which are inaccurate. It’s old and dilapidated in a strip-mall that is abandoned. They allow you to order green beans on the app but the company no longer serves it because of Covid. The last time I went, they were out of cole slaw! Tonight, I was greeted by an excellent employee who actually started doing a Quality Check on my $60 order. She added a couple extra sauces which would have made the order perfect. Instead, her supervisor reached into our bag and actually took the sauce out. Turns out, the manager ended up ruining the order. I had to bite my tongue and walk out. There is a much cleaner, more modern, and better Popeyes a 5 min drive East on Bloomfield Ave in Bloomfield. That one may be more crowded but the quality is there. Avoid this Popeyes at all costs. Even though it’s much closer to me, I’m never going back.

Big Puddles of water by the entrance should of been my big WARNING sign, but I was so hungry, I overlooked the puddle my family and I had to cross. I placed my order and I was told I had to wait 10 minutes, okay 50 minutes later I’m asking about my order, young lady behind the counter seemed bothered I asked, but I waited patiently for 40 minutes on top of the 10 I was told. The employees were having a good time amongst themselves as if they were cooking in their homes for friends, very unprofessional. The crew manager was just walking all over the place as if his crew had everything under control, clearly not the status this particular day!! If you’re close to this location!! Just drive another 5 miles and I’m sure you will eat, return back home and you will beat the time served at this Popeyes..

I would avoid this Popeye’s location. They do not honor or offer what they are displaying for sale. I was denied my order when I ask for the deal in the picture. I was told that offer is no longer available and I was not the only one disappointed waiting to make an order. The manager offered no assistance and I walked away buying more chicken than why I really needed. Terrible customer service the manager should have honored good deal that they are advertising.

I know what it’s like to manage a Resturant, and a high volume one at that, so I know what the difference between a “Karen” and blatant food safety violations. And what I saw made me so upset as a restaurant manager how BASIC food safety was simply ignored. Not only were no gloves used, but I witnessed employees using bare hands to grab chicken, and then grab shrimp (cross contamination). Not only this, but the manager sat on the prep counter to take orders. (Food surface violation). They also had a sanitizer bucket from 8/28 (today is 9/2) which means one of two things, the bucket was never changed or the bucket was never washed On top of this, when I voiced my concerned, nobody acted the least bit shocked. I know as a manager, that the second someone pointed out a food safety violation, I would be on top of that because food safety should ALWAYS be the number one priority. Absolutly shocked and disgusted by this. If it weren’t for someone I know ordering food there, i would’ve walked out. I pray someone sees this before someone gets sick or worse.

Very slow service.. i was expecting too much too soon… thought it would be a better experience being in Montclair… but it was not…
As of recently i have returned to Popeyes to find thst the service has gotten way better that years ago when i first visited. The food is a whole lot better and better service now than in previous visits. I would recommend this place to others. Close to transportation and right off the bus line. Now all they need is more seating and a better atmosphere for a great experience.
