I really miss the 1980s version of this location. The cashiers were always annoyed, but I loved them because they cared about the quality of the food and never got my orders wrong. The guy cooking was there every time I went wearing an apron and blue shirt. He worked hard serving up hot and fresh chicken and making sure everything was full. All the food was delicious every time I went in.

Always a good and favorable taste. The service is especially good when you are clearly understood. My family and I were very pleased each time the gentleman with the dreads serves us. He offers an excellent customer service.

I, typically, don’t like the Hamden, CT location but my mother wanted to go and she was driving. No problem with the service, she was nice, smiled, even had me repeat my order so she could get it right. We get our food and head home. I get home and I ordered the 6 wings. All drums. I’m not happy but hey, at least there’s 6 in here. But please, like all other locations, do half flats, half drums. PLEASE!!!

My family and I didn’t have a problem with the food but the service was a very poor reflection of not only the Management team but what the company stands for. I honestly don’t believe The Popeyes Corporation would post false signage on their restrooms just to let saying “For Customers Only” & “Out of Service” and let their employees, elderly customers, and Door Dash/Uber drivers use them but tell my teenager and my two small children “You can’t go in there and go sit down……please”. This was after we had to go across the street to McDonald’s where the cashier finished with a customer to unlock the restroom for my two small children. This isn’t the only time we’ve received poor service this is the first time we’re saying something. We usually go through the Drive thru because we have received better services at other Popeyes locations and where willing to give this location another chance since it next to the highway and we do alot of traveling. I think going forward we’ll advise our friends and family that are members of this community to take their business to McDonald’s across the street and other establishments within the radius.

I just left there not too long ago (11/12/2025, around 5pm). When I got to the drive through window, I asked the cashier for ranch and honey. She said it would be “57 more for each” and before I could speak, she closed the window and walked away. I stayed there and when she decided to come back to the window, I said I would take 2 of the ranch, and was trying to hand her my card. She said I would have to go around the building and hop in the line again because “the other orders were up” and then shut the window on me again. Why put someone like that at the window?

Moldy chicken, and when I went in the store to tell them, they told me it was their spices. They were selling an entire batch of moldy chicken when I went to the front.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place

The food was good although the chicken skin was not fully cooked . The workers are nice good service. Atmosphere very clean.

Order here from time to time, but my last couple orders were wrong…. And instead of letting me know that there’s a wait for a certain item, they will not tell you and just give you something you didn’t want. My last time there I placed a special order for some chicken. Because the last order before that was wrong. I decided to check my bag this time to insure I got what I ordered. I checked and guess what. Order was wrong again. I walk inside the store and tell the clerk that my order was wrong, she tells me, that’s there is a seven minute wait for my pieces of chicken… Mrs… you could of just told me there was a wait time for my order….

I asked for dark meats, but they gave me white meats, so I went there again to pick up dark meat. 2nd time, they gave me 1 dark meat and 1 white meat (wing). I spoke to manager, and he is so sure he gave me a leg, not a wing, and insists to bring it back. Man, I’m not driving down in 90s degree for one stupid leg, but I’m telling you, you gave me a Wing!! Or, how would I ended up with 2 wings???
