We love Popeyes chicken! We think it’s probably the best fried chicken around when they are fried properly. We’ve had chicken that’s too greasy and too salty but, in general, most of the time, the chicken at this Dedham location is usually moist with good crunch and flavor.
We like to get the chicken combo meal with mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. The biscuits are terrible, I’d rather they give the option to replace it with something else.
The online ordering works well, especially with the ability to customize the chicken pieces we want. However, while you can order the mashed potatoes with or without gravy, it doesn’t let you specify gravy on the side. When they add gravy to the potatoes directly, there’s never enough for the large size mash.
Service is OK. Even though we always pre-order, when we go pick up at the specified time, the food is never ready. One time, they told us they didn’t have enough of what we ordered and we had to change the options or wait another 20 minutes. But, we still love their fried chicken.

Popeyes is a fast food chain across the country serving up, in their own words, Louisiana style fried chicken with cajun seasonings.
Overall though, I think the fried chicken is way too greasy and oily for me. I think the sauces are good, but overall every time I eat the fried chicken, it feels way too heavy for me. It can be a good option for food in the area if you really want it, but I wouldn’t choose it as a first option.

Officially feel the need to review this place after multiple negative experiences. Only kept coming back due to this being the closest location and being given rewards for next purchase but im now done with this location. My order is always made incorrect, never had a decent customer service experience, and have always been told to park off to the side at the drive through cause the food was never ready within 15 minutes

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I don’t care how hungry you are or how much you’re craving Popeye’s, DO NOT EVER GO HERE! There are other locations not too far away and there’s a Chick-fil-A a couple hundred yards away.
By far the worst Popeye’s location I have ever been to. Airport locations are better. They get something wrong with the order every time. Today, I ordered ahead on the app, the app said it was ready for pick up, and when I got here, they told me I had to wait 20 minutes for it to be ready. They had no explanation, they didn’t apologize, and they laughed when I said that this was unacceptable service. I’m still waiting for the food currently. After reading through similar experiences from others in the comments, this location needs to be closed ASAP.
UPDATE: my food finally came and, of course, it was missing an item. They are literally incapable of completing an order properly at this location

Every time I order chicken pieces they always give me like majority drumsticks. Like how can someone keep getting 12 drum sticks in a 16 piece combo. Like where’s the protein “ chicken breast”!!! the workers should know proper equal shares.

Seriously, I tried it to see if this was a viable fast food option for me and my family. Aside from the great biscuits, I don’t see why one would go here especially when Chick-fil-A is down the street. Atmosphere and service are commensurate with the food… it sucks.

Pretty impressed with the service. Food came out within 5 minutes. Chicken and Cajun fries were hot and crispy!
Came in pretty late and usually everything is soggy but to my surprise it wasn’t.

On March 5th 2026 I submitted a mobile order I submitted it 15 minutes before arrival and when I arrived at the store they told me to wait 6 minutes for them to finish the chicken so I parked the car like they asked and waited and they left me waiting for over 25 minutes seeing multiple other cars go through the drive thru and get their orders so I go to walk inside to find all the doors locked and an employee sees me and signals to go through the drive thru so I go and they had my order ready finally got 2 frozen lemonade drinks that aren’t even frozen anymore and whne I get home to enjoy the food finally they didnt give me cheese and bacon on the spicy chicken sandwich I ordered and the AI support was no help at all if there was another popeyes near me i would prefer to go there but there isnt this location always has issues and I constantly have to complain for there to be no changes I love the food but the customer service is not great at all and the inconsistencies are terrible

Avoid this place at all costs! I ordered some food for my friends and when I’d got back from picking it up, I discovered that half of the order was missing. I am incredibly disappointed; it would be one thing to mess up the order, it happens, but to completely leave out half of it is unacceptable.

I came to this location one other time before and I don’t like the way the store is set up. They basically force you to order at the kiosk and if you don’t, you’ll be sitting in lobby for a long time with no one greeting or saying a thing to you! Terrible service in my opinion and also the portions for sides are very small. They only use a single scoop for each sides but want to charge you 4 dollars for a side which is very unreasonable considering it’s like 12 bucks for a meal…….
