(Decatur ,IL) You could tell that this nighttime crew really cared about what they were doing, completely focused on the tasks, shouting out calls with ease and response heard was just as quick. Everyone fit well into their positions and did them well! They even stayed calm and collected when dealing with semi frustrated customers in the middle of the rush they were in! I couldn’t do that the way they were…No matter the wait, the food was hot and fresh, everything was there in the bags, even a extra Lil snack on the side for being patient and understanding 😉 we gave them a tip for showing us how much they appreciated us being patient and hopefully showed how much we appreciated them and what they do! It might have not been much but we would have more if we could.

Service was really good. The two ladies that took my order were very nice and courteous. The chicken was done, and crispy how I liked, but seemed not to be seasoned. The red Beans and rice were like mush mostly. This was Monday evening Dec 8th.

This place is trash, and it’s not necessarily because of the food — it’s the people who work there. At this location, the employees are downright rude and disrespectful. While I was waiting for my pickup order, I watched and overheard them talking badly about a customer and being rude.
I ordered a 6-piece Sweet and Spicy wing with an iced sweet tea. I waited about 20 minutes, even though I ordered through the app, and when I finally received my food, it was wrong. They gave me plain chicken wings with Sweet Heat sauce — not Sweet and Spicy! The whole experience was just terrible and completely unprofessional.
Oh, and the tea didn’t even have ice in it! When I realized my order was incorrect, I pulled up to the drive-thru and asked for the Sweet and Spicy sauce again. The employee gave me Sweet Heat — again — and immediately shut the window. I waited until she opened it back up, and when I asked for the correct sauce, she told me, “I don’t know what you want me to do.”
Well, for starters, maybe give me what I paid for. I usually get the sauce on the wings, not on the side. She should have known which sauce I was talking about but acted like she had no idea.
I don’t recommend anyone go to this location, and I definitely won’t be returning. Maybe I sound like a “Karen,” but this isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had here. The employees — and even the manager, who had an attitude herself — need serious training on how to run the place and treat customers with respect.
Another frustrating thing is that there’s no way to file a complaint, which says a lot. If you don’t like customer service, then you shouldn’t be working in customer service!

This Popeyes has some issues with staffing having child care. There’s times when there are 1 to 2 children sitting in a booth while their parent works. Not really a very good atmosphere to dine.

Im a popeyes fan. 1. This only one in town, hard to get to location. 2. First time we tried driveup, was told 30 wait, unacceptable,left. Second visit ate in, employees attitude more like zombies, got food in timely manner, just deadpan service. Love the 6 dollar dead with 2 dollar drink, chicken much better that gas station here in town. Very good biskets.

I can only tell you that standing there anxiously waiting for our order made me want to put on a uniform and show them how to keep a lobby clean and trash out that was over flowing
and I really needed to use the bathroom but by the way the lobby looked I was afraid to see the bathroom. The workers were pleasant but management needs to have employees on down times get out there and wash them windows and doors ,change garbage. Cleanliness is a must in the food business. My total was 75.00 on my order only to get all the way home to discover only 2 biscuits with my order, suppose to be 8 and they don’t fill up the cups for sides and no honey no butter. I was so disappointed. BRING BACK KFC PLEASE!

Well this is the second time in my life I have eaten at a popeye’s. The first time was 10 years ago in an airport and I paid way to much as most know about food in an airport. But that food was good almost worth the extra money. Now today I went to this location and waited 45 minutes to get to the speaker. Which most would think means good food.
Wrong. I ordered 2 , 5 piece tender combos spicy with sweet heat sauce. When I received the bags of food I left and went home. The photos will show what I received. I ordered spicy with sweet heat sauce and nothing in this entire order was spicy. The only flavor was the chicken sandwich. The two sweet teas were supposed to be large. Got one small and one large. And that is NOT popeyes tea. This tasted like old watered down tea with Splenda.
The service here was poor. I get that you’re busy but if you take your time and make a good product people will return. THIS wasn NOT a good product, nor was it even close to what I ordered. I get that maybe I may have been handed the wrong bag but if the order was checked prior to handing out the food this would not be an issue. I’m obviously not the only one that got the wrong food. Someone out there has my spicy 5 piece . I tried calling then, several times. But I kept getting hung up on. ( hint to management: answering the phone may have resulted in the problem being resolved and this review may have went differently) but still the chicken had no flavor but grease

Do not trust getting your food from the one & only Popeyes in Decatur, IL! I had it last night for dinner, and here it is the next morning, and I wake up with the WORST stomach cramps ever & throwing up nonstop. I will never trust to eat there again, especially after seeing all of these bad reviews.

So, let me share my recent experience at Popeyes. The service was honestly pretty disappointing. The girl who seemed to be the manager—the one with her hair tied up and a nose piercing—was super inattentive. She was taking orders while glued to her phone, barely looking up. When customers asked questions, she just gave these one-word answers like “yes,” “no,” or “uh-huh” without explaining anything. And to top it off, she even stood there picking her nose at one point—it was really off-putting. Honestly, that kind of behavior is not what you’d expect from a manager. They really need to make some changes there.
