Don’t go if you’re not one of the 3 locals. We’ve been coming to Baraboo for 8 years for an annual ski trip and went last year after leaving the ski mountain. Not welcoming, so rude, hated that we were there. We thought maybe the bartender was having a bad night. Went again this year after leaving Cascade and the bartender was horribly rude. She served 3 of the 10 of us without checking for IDs. One of us ‘allegedly’ appeared under 21 (we’re all 35+ years old), bartender asked for ID, she didn’t have a physical copy because she’s 37, her husband was with her and hasn’t been carded in 10+ years, but no big deal. She didn’t have her ID – her fault – so she said she didn’t need a drink, no worries. The bartender was so rude and insisted that she had to leave – even though that’s against WI law. She had a copy of her ID proving that she’s in fact 37 years old on her phone but the bartender wouldn’t take it. Unreal horrible customer service. I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a small town dive bar that I assume would be thrilled to accept patron’s money. Seems super sketchy to me. Will not be going back.

Great little blue collar bar! Laura was our tender/cook and she did an awesome job… an EXCELLENT tender.
My only downside is the base box attached to the juke box, you don’t hear the music here, you FEEL it. Perhaps they have a younger crowd and that’s what they want so who am I to complain, lol. I’m 55 and used to own a tavern.
If I ever bought a bar again I’d certainly try to hire that tender Laura, and if her bosses read this she deserves every penny your paying her an then some! (Laura, I know I botched the spelling of your name here, sorry lol. was it Lora?)

Atmosphere – Looks/comfort/cleanliness is great… but that darn base… not so much.

If I could give 0 stars I would, I have never felt more unwelcome. After a day of skiing my friends and I walked into this bar for a quick beer and some darts and as soon as well walked in the bartender made it seem like we ruined her day.

I loved the garlic cheese curds, and the bacon cheeseburger was pretty good too. The pricing is affordable and the room is spacious and zoned to enjoy a meal separate from the bar counter. The music was a reasonable volume and some awesome 80s tunes were played. The server was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely come back again.

The bartender was unbelievably rude. Me and five other friends came in ready to get a meal. She meticulously went through our ID’s reading them off and making comments about them to other guests. We told her before she started, one of us was not 21 but he would not be drinking. She insisted after checking all the other ID’s to see his and promptly kicked us out. Saying “he can’t be in here” Legally, he can be in there. You just can’t serve him alcohol.
It was a fairy hurtful experience as we tried to reassure our friend (who turned 21 next month) that not all bars were like that. I don’t know what her problem was.
