This is an update to my previous review. The owner of Poor Man’s Pizza reached out to me and assured me that the pizza I was given the first time was not the size it should be. They asked me to give them another try so I did today and they were spot on! I was much happier with this experience. The pizza was done well and filled the whole box. I think it says a lot about the company that they wanted to make things right. Give this place a try! They’re fast, friendly and their pizza is far better than an chain restaurant. Support Local!

(Tried Poor Man’s pizza for the first time tonight. Ordered take out, it was ready very fast, pizza was cooked perfectly, tasted great and the staff was very friendly BUT that being said, I would have a very hard time paying almost $14 for such a small, 2 topping pizza again.)

This place is awesome! Service is great and the staff are great. Service was fast and pizza was amazing. Wood fired pizza so you get it fast, fresh and hot. The Margherita pizza and dumpster diver are my go to so far but look forward to trying others.

I thought we’d give them a try since we’re a gluten free household and always on the hunt for new options. Based on the other reviews I knew it was hit or miss and unfortunately with us it was a miss.

The food was delivered with doughy, undercooked crust (see photos). One of the pizzas we ordered came with barely any cheese or other toppings that we requested, the toppings we did get seemed to be just an after-thought and none of them were of an edible quality.

I didn’t bother reaching out to them to fix it since based on their responses to other reviews here and on Facebook they don’t seem open to criticism.

Well Van Buren, you ready for something slightly different? Pretty much your standard affair when it comes to a pizza place. Good use of the space for seating, and the crew was just full of playful banter for the time we were here. Ordered the Bacon Ranch pizza and the Dumpster Diver with a few extra ingredients. Was a good portion size for what we got.

Really good ingredients, good pizza and was a pleasure to eat here. Will have to come back again.

tl;dr – want pizza that isn’t mediocre giant chain? Get it here, for real.

Poor Man’s Pizza is a new restaurant to this area, and started out as a food truck. Their pizza exploded in popularity almost overnight, and I can see why. Chewy NY style crust, a sauce that isn’t too sweet and has a delicious zing, gooey cheese, and quality toppings. It’s also not as greasy as many local pizza joints. Wood-oven baked gives an amazing flavor to the crust, and adds the smoky scent of a real handmade craft.

We purchased a pepperoni, adding prosciutto ham, and the White pizza. Both were amazing; these chefs *know* how to make pizza. The only part that wasn’t perfect was the crust on the White pizza – don’t get me wrong, it’s on point this way for the pepperoni, but wood-fired does lead to some uneven heating, and because the sauce and cheese mix on the white pizza is relatively subdued (garlic, soft cheeses; overpowered by the carbon on the crust) the “burnt” parts of the crust dough overcame the flavour of the pizza itself. This was remedied by eating around the darker bits of crust or dipping in the crazy goid homemade ranch. We paid about $30 for two pizzas and a side salad.

Finally, I can’t personally speak to the service as my spouse did the pickup, but she was absolutely raving about the staff she interacted with and how pleasant they were.

Overall, I highly recommend Poor Man’s Pizza if you want a very tasty, authentic, and filling lunch or dinner without breaking the bank.

The margherita pizza and the chicken bacon ranch from Poor Man’s Pizza (food truck- Ozark) was amazing. All fresh ingredients with the wood-fire cooked crust makes for an absolute tasty artisan pizza pie! Top notch!

Great local place. Heard about them from family (because they also have a Food Truck!) And had to try them out. Had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza and a Dessert Pizza, both were great!! Loved the use of a Wood Stove, made the pizza crust nice and crisp on the outside, and chewy on the inside. Will be going back! 🙂
