Let’s talk about the white fish they have there first. Such good flavor and if you get the sandwich try it with their home recipe coleslaw and home recipe tarter sauce. Man so good. French fries, onion rings or jalapeño poppers are a good addition. Some of the best sodas, tea, and shakes around.
On the weekends he cooks up some BBQ. You gotta watch their Facebook page for dates and times. One of the pictures is pork belly tacos with an Alabama white sauce. AMAZING. Love this place and all the staff. They are what keeps America great, hard working, love giving great Americans.
Food was REALLY GOOD I will be back.
Employees was really friendly!!!! And the restaurant was clean keep up the good work. 🙂 This is my 4th time coming back with in a week just tried the owner’s homemade Brisket with mac&cheese was REALLY FIRE!!!! Didn’t think I would like it BUT I do. The best place in my book. No more fast food but here
Normally, I can’t say enough good words about Poor John’s, but like the rest of us apparently inflation has hit them hard. Their prices have really gone up, 2 Smitty’s Tenderloins, 2 orders of Mushrooms (6 to 7 small Mushrooms in each order), & 2 med shakes for $36.00! Again, normally worth the extra, but this time the Tenderloins were over cooked to the point of being burnt, the grease was old, & left a lasting taste your mouth. I could only manage a few bites & my dog’s got the rest. The Mushrooms were just the opposite, as they were not quite done. Didn’t seem to have the bad greasy taste though. The shakes were excellent as always. This is a small town restaurant & it has survived over the years due to it’s abilities to bring country specialities & hometown taste to it’s customers. It gives the small community a meeting place, teens a summer job, farmers & family a good place for a break & a nice meal. They are allowed an off day or two. I do, on the other hand, really hope they can do something about those extreme prices.
Big shout out to all that work here a Poor John’s restaurant. You make this world brighter!!
