Food was tasty. Servers and kitchen staff were calling out to each other about social life. Took away from the dining experience I thought. Still its an independant mom and pop style restaurant and is a nice change from a chain style italian restaurant for sure.

I came here for a friends birthday dinner. For a large crowd, they had plenty of seating available. The food was delicious and the service was great! Not one plate had food left on it at the end of the night. And we enjoyed the Jell-O shots which were fun and not too strong. Our server knew the menu very well and gave great recommendations, and took our orders for a large group very quickly. I’d say the only downside was how we were placed directly behind the band, which was very loud and our food took a while to come out, but we figured the group size contributed to that and the fact that all of our food was brought out at the same time, which we all appreciated. I’m looking forward to returning to this place again – where the simplest dishes (like chicken tenders, salads and soups) were just as delicious as a fancy pasta dish.

After a rough start to our night at another restaurant, **Ponza** came through and completely saved the evening! The moment we walked in, the energy was on point — welcoming, lively, and full of good vibes. We were greeted right away and seated comfortably, and unlike our last stop, *everything* we needed was already on the table: silverware, napkins, and actual attention.

My husband, son and I truly enjoyed our dinner at Penza tonight! My husband and son had pasta dishes, and both were delicious- the ingredients were fresh, and the food came out piping hot!
I had a roasted cauliflower wedge with pesto sauce and mixed veggies- and it was so yummy!! The veggies were all fresh too.
Yummy hot bread and butter – was served as well.
All in all- I highly recommend Ponza!

I had chicken parmigiana with pasta cooked perfectly! Wine was good as well. The best part, heated outdoor dining with free live jazz! It was so enjoyable! Hard to find that in Connecticut! Wonderful waitress too!

But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the private birthday party I hosted there for my fiancé. From the very beginning, Veronica, the owner/manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her attention to detail, warm hospitality, and genuine care made everyone feel like family. She was incredibly accommodating, and it was clear she wanted to make sure every aspect of the evening exceeded our expectations.
The service was impeccable, with professional staff members. The food? Simply superb. Every dish was not only beautifully presented but also packed with incredible flavor, leaving our guests raving about each course. In all my hospitality career- I have never seen this many customer unfriendly Rules & Regulations on a Menu before. First- the Specials menu was stained. Then they pair pasta items with particular sauces- none of which I preferred, and have a Rule that you have to pay $4.00 if you want a menu substitution or recipe change: so Penalty is assesed if I prefer traditional red/ marinara/tomatoe sauce with Angel Hair pasta- $4.00 penalty; If I want red sauce with Gnocchi instead of their listed ” gargonzola” it’s a $4.00 penalty! Then if I want angel hair with meatballs-Nope- you can’t do that because the menu offers “Spaghetti” and meatballs…have to pay the penalty $4.00 to switch the pasta! Gnocchi comes with Gargonzola. Rigatoni comes with Vodka sauce. It’s almost like they pair unusual sauces just to force customers to have to pay the $4.00 penalty.
Then, it also says I have to ask to speak to a Veronica before I order my meal choices because the printed prices on the menu can change due to economic constraints….if costs fluctuations is the case ( which is truly a good reason and understandlable ) you might consider providing your customers with low- cost daily/ or weekly menu sheet reprints with revised prices from a computer printer? Many restaurants pull it off so it would avoid unpleasant Final Bill shock upon presentation of the final bill for those customers who missed reading that Rule on the menu and fail to ask to have Veronica come to the table, while your server is there, before they place their dinner order for the price increase. Sorry, not trying to be rude, but ” hospitality” amd relaxed dining experiences should favor the consumer a bit more. Since I would have had to pay some penalty fees for traditional Italian favorites- Angel Hair with red sauce, or Angel Hair with meatballs, or Rigatoni with a red meat sauce, or Gnocchi with red sauce, etc…..I decided to leave Ponza before what could have been a very uncomfortable or stressful ordering of my dinner. When I saw that Ponza had opened in the Home Goods parking lot, I was a little skeptical. But friends told us about the great bands they have so we stopped by tonight to listen to Destiny. They were great! We ordered the Quattro Formaggio pizza and it was simply the best pizza we’ve had in Norwalk! It’s my new favorite spot, so close to home!!

Awful decision we made by going to this place. Please save your money and go somewhere else where the spaghetti won’t be overcooked, the 7 dollars you pay extra for grill chicken on your salad is not paper thin and hard. Awful experience we got our food but never the drinks we ordered the waiter was trying to keep up with all the tables but it was just him taking care of everything.
