I stopped into the restaurant to get lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. The place was cozy and busy. I was sat and served by Mohammed and he was super nice. I ordered:

Ginger Martini
Moules Mariniere (white wine sauce)
Truffle Macaroni and cheese
Dibi Haoussa (Rack of Lamb, couscous, spinach)
Homemade Tirimisu

The food was really tasty and my favorite was the Moules! It was so tasty with flavors! All in all a good experience!

Ponty Bistro is the perfect blend of West African and French fusion done right.
From the moment we arrived, the vibe felt warm, stylish, and intentional.
The passion fruit mango margaritas were refreshing and perfectly balanced.
The escargot surprised me in the best way rich garlic butter, a hint of cognac, and incredible flavor.
The truffle mac and cheese and rack of lamb were both standout dishes, cooked beautifully and full of depth.
Seafood lovers will appreciate the creamy risotto packed with shrimp, mussels, scallops, and lobster sauce.
Dessert sealed the experience, and I’d absolutely return to explore more of the menu.

I visited Pony Bistro in late September 2025 for a work dinner. Let’s just say I’m glad this was a work dinner and I didn’t spend my money at this restaurant. We dined from a Prefix menu. I was concerned the food would be spicy as it’s an African/French restaurant. For appetizers we were served chicken wings, calamari and some type of puff. The puff was spicy and the chicken wings were the only thing that was good. For dinner I order the steak which came with some type of sauce that wasn’t good. The steak also had an after taste to it I stopped eating it. For dessert I ordered the chocolate lava cake which wasn’t any better. It also had a weird after taste to it. I also tried the crème burlee which also wasn’t good and had that same after taste. This isn’t a restaurant I would be visiting again.

Had a wonderful Saturday night dinner here. A terrific sea bass special and the Poulet Yassa was geat. We wanted to stick with their West African dishes and they did not disappoint. We would be happy to return to try more. Service was warm and friendly + having a deejay on site was a fun touch, even if the music got louder as the night grew later.

The best happy in Harllem 4 – 7 pm.
The esgarot appetizer is one of my favorite but the happy hour Leche martini that Reese makes is the best and Mohamet is on point as far as service. Oh did I mention LIVE jazz music on Thursday (weather permitting) starting at 8pm. This is definitely the joint!!!

I had the pleasure of dining at Ponty Bistro for the first time as a birthday treat from a dear friend. The atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting.

For my entrée, I ordered Le Poulet Parmesan, which was rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. I only wish I’d taken photos before we dove in! Dessert was the perfect way to end the meal. I chose the chocolate fondant, which had a gooey and velvety center served with vanilla ice cream. My friend ordered the profiteroles, filled with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate. They were fresh, crisp, and just as enjoyable.

The only thing that felt a little off was the music. During our visit, the restaurant was playing pop music and I wasn’t expecting that. In my opinion, it didn’t quite match the vibe or the cultural essence of the menu. A playlist that aligned more closely with the restaurant’s identity would’ve added another layer of richness to the experience.

Still, it was a memorable day with good company, great customer service, great food and desserts. I’d definitely go back!

I loved my time there. Our waitress was amazing and knew what we wanted before we asked. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was busy. Right next to us was a group of ladies that work with a mentorship program. They mentor at risk youths. So if I had to choose which was the best it would be that they open their doors for groups like that.

Enjoyed a ladies day out at Ponty Bistro for brunch/lunch on a Saturday. It’s an African-French-inspired restaurant. The atmosphere was low-key. Nice restaurant for friends, family, and dates.
We ordered the Crab Benedict, Steak with home fries, Maple French Toast, and the lobster burger with fries. The food was tasty and well-seasoned. The Maple French Toast is delicious!!!
For drinks the Virgin Moscow Mule, Bissap, and the Darkar Lemonade.
The waiters are professional, hard-working and friendly.
There is a bar so you can sit and order drinks.
Overall my experience was good.
Definitely will come for dinner. Try the dinner menu
Paid parking is on the street. Please read the signs. Don’t want a ticket.

The food was good and flavorful. My only complaint is that I wish the calamari came out fresh. They do live jazz music on Thursday from 7pm till close.

My lemonade was undrinkable as it was extremely concentrated. It was opaque, darkly yellow and way too sour. Waitress had no idea about the kind of tiny fork used with mussels so we had to go back and forth until she inquired of the manager and then produced one. The mussels used to have denser sauce. The current sauce was with onions and just sloppy to the point you couldn’t tell if there was a mussel in a shell or not. My string beans were al dente. My mashed potatoes were boxed. The manager insisted that a piece of chicken back and another small, hard, indistinguishable piece of chicken equated to half a chicken. The knife had difficulty penetrating the chicken. I sent my entire back and only drank water.
