Stopped by since the place had a “loco moco” burrito on their menu and thought it sounded amazing. Well it heavily lacked the loco moco flavors and the gravy was severed on the side, but that too lacked flavor. However their Haupia pudding was nice overall but did lack some texture.

I had never heard and been to Pono Hawaiian Kitchen and Tap before. But I was asked to try it out during a Business Lunch. I was very surprised with how delicious the food was. The Da Kine Poke Bowl is a must!

My husband always has “Loco Moco”, and is was excellent as usual. All items we have had have been excellent. Atmosphere could use more plants and decor for s’more tropical atmosphere.

Delicious poke and a great selection of beer. I didn’t try the cocktails but they looked good. Very pleasant dining on the patio. Dogs are welcome too.

I’ve been a fan of Pono for a while, including the original spot downtown. Recently I went to the Capitola St. for the first time in a while and was disappointed. The food was still solid but the presentation has gone downhill. Instead of a regular plate I got a metal tray with some of the food in a paper bowl. The rice was put directly on the paper tray liner. I’ve never seen that before. Can’t say I’m a fan. The liner gets soft and mushy from the rice and starts to fall apart. So you get some paper in your rice. It made the overall experience feel cheap but the food isn’t cheap.

I had a yummy chicken salad… It was big enough to take half home for another meal. The servers were laid back, silly and very accommodating… They also have a Happy Hour… Felt like a true Maui vibe! We’ll go back for sure!

This place was packed and I can see why. They had coconut shrimp on a happy hour deal and I got the loco moco which was so good! Nice draft beer selection and a friendly staff.

Got the traditional Ahi bowl. Barely had any salt in it so the fish was bland. Too much chili and sesame oil. Would go for the shoyo instead.
