Ponko’s Chicken in Alpharetta has proven to be an absolute hit-or-miss, and unfortunately, this visit was a major miss. While I’ve had genuinely great experiences here, the inconsistency is a real problem.
This latest order was downright disgusting. The sheer amount of grease in my to-go container was inexcusable. There was literally enough oil pooled at the bottom that I could have re-fried the chicken myself! It makes me wonder if the chicken was even drained properly after frying, or if someone just poured a half-cup of oil over it before boxing it up. This level of sloppiness is unacceptable.

One of those days when my daughter and I drive around Alpharetta looking for good healthy, tasty food we found Ponko Chicken.
Jason, the executive chef, took our order and we tried different options from the menu.
We got our food in six minutes, the presentation was top class and the taste!!! It was delicious. We definitely keep this restaurant in our top list.
In addition to that, the cleanliness of the place was perfect, bathrooms like you expect for them to be… perfectly clean!!!
We are happy to find places like Ponko Chicken… you got from us 11 out of ten.

Ponko is always delicious!! They have one of the best tofu sandwiches I’ve had at a restaurant. The OG sauce is amazing!!!! Service is always so nice at this location, the employees and the manager are alway very kind.

Fantastic food. Chicken tenders were delicious, as well as the chicken tacos and fries. Nice bar, & good deserts as well. Super friendly staff, with great service. Owner was a very friendly, nice, Christian man that kept us from ever getting out of our seat and I noticed he checked on every table in the restaurant just while we were enjoying our food. Will definitely be back, couldn’t have been better.

So there is an abundance of fast food restaurants around Alpharetta but the service, experience, and prices are what sets this place apart.
Here is the summary of my visit to the Ponko chicken Alpharetta location
Ambiance 5/5: The ambiance is very peppy and has a young vibe. The art design looks very modern. It could be a good hangout place for youngsters
Service 5/5: We were greeted cheerfully and the reception was really helpful with our order. They also informed us about the BOGO offer and waited while we skimmed through the menu to make a decision, Also, when my friend received the wrong order, they were so nice to let her keep it and brought her the right dish which was really nice of them
Food Quality 4.5/5: I really like the chicken fingers with the side that I ordered but I did not like the side which was a salad with island veggies. The jerk chicken side was really good and reminded me of Indian flavors. The portion sizes were really big as well
Value for Money 5/5: This is because we had a BOGO offer and also the portion sizes were really good.
All in all, great service and experience. I would definitely visit this place again and totally recommended it for a great experience when you are craving some fried chicken that is not too heavy on your pocket

This place is amazing. Always fresh food and very friendly staff. We ordered the ponko chicken strips which are unique. I had the spicy strips. with sides of sweet potatoes and regular potatoes we love them. I for one love adding honey to sweet potatoes at home. My husband had. chicken strips in BBQ sauce rice and french fries, the rice lacked salt. coleslaw if they add sugar it would be more interesting. and the portion was amazing. Huge chunks. Good taste, Good quality. We ordered the three house sauces and they are amazing. We definitely love the green beans. You have to try the desserts, the cookie and the red velvet in a glass are delicious. 100000% recommended

I absolutely love ponko chicken. It was fresh, flavorful, crunchy, moist, and you could see the sauce seeping out of it almost like a juicy burger. The bathroom was also kept in nice condition and smelled good! Not only that but I ordered 3 tacos with non-grilled chicken and it was wonderful. It tasted Asian level of flavor which is saying a lot as an Asian myself. To add the ranch was above average and the fries were crunchy and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pickles were nice and fresh and tasted refreshing paired along with the salty chicken. Plus the pickles don’t taste too salty but nice and cooling. The toppings added on the tacos offer a taste so good that I can’t even begin to describe. The peach tea was not bad and they also have dip in dots. They have two separate bathrooms that are spacious and for both women and men. The service is so interactive and felt comfortable. They were friendly and their food didn’t disappoint. The chicken is halal. Everything about it was perfect after a long hot day at school and this was just the meal to satisfy my hunger. The fountain drinks also have the good kind of ice. I like the seating booths. The menu offers a variety of different meals and overall a splendid environment to eat in. It met my expectations of both the food and the atmosphere as the A.C protected me from the blazing heat and burning sun.
