Great little pub in Virginia city . Legendary stories have been told here. Make sure you check it out and ask for Faith . Fantastic service . We didn’t do the mine tour but I’m sure it would be cool. Beer is cold and beat hot dogs in town

Very cool saloon with nice staff. The major feature is definitely the mine tour! The young man that showed my family the features really knew his stuff and should be a teacher/ professor somewhere. He made old mining history very interesting, tying it in very well to the states of California and Nevada.
Unbelievable the conditions miners used to work in, you will see this when he shows you the stories of stairs coming down from a hole and how dark it was without candles.
Appreciate the book he introduced to me as well. Great stop for any family wanting some fun knowledge!

Our family has been attending the annual Christmas parade in Virginia City, NV for nearly 25 years. It’s a fun and festive event that has grown in size. The 2024 crowd was one of the biggest and the decorations were the most spectacular in many years. Also, a fireworks show has been added after the parade which was a really a nice ending to our evening.
During the parade and throughout the evening we stopped for a few beers at the various saloons in town. The Ponderosa saloon is a nice place to grab a hot chocolate or cocktail!
Prior to the parade, we had dinner at the Cider House, small but enjoyable.
The Parade is held on the first Saturday in December and begins between 5pm and 6pm. I recommed getting to Virginia City early (2pm-3pm) so you can find parking and have time to do some shopping and/or get a bite to eat!
