Delicious food and friendly service. So glad I got to check out Pompette, which had been at the top of my list for a while now.
I went for brunch on Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed cocktails, crab croquettes, the chicken sandwich, and the friend toast. Every dish was perfect and rich with flavor. The chicken sandwich was my favorite part of the meal. The French toast was so moist in the inside pairing perfectly with the tart blueberries. Our lovely waitress Rebecca needs a ginormous raise!!! I’ll be back.

The brunch was delicious with plenty of choices, from eggs and bacon to fresh salads and sandwiches. Everything came out hot and well-prepared, and the portions were just right. The coffee was fresh and the staff made sure drinks were always topped up. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a late morning meal with friends.

Yum! This place was so delicious! My fav was grilled hanger steak with unbelievably good potatoes! But everything else we ate was also great! Perfect for sharing food!

Pompette is a perfect neighborhood spot! Busy enough on any given night, that it feels like the place to be, but not so busy that you have to book a table months in advance. And of course, excellent food and drinks! I love to come here with friends, or by myself at the bar. Seasonal favorites include the beet martini, and the lamb couscous.

Outstanding brunch at Pompette while in town for Christmas with the kiddos! Where to start… the food was spectacular (Dad loved the grits, Mom loved the hashbrowns, sons loved the donut holes and cinnamon rolls “just the right amount of moisture”), the ambience was great, and the highlight was a visit from Chef Aaron- made our day and week!!

Pompette is a very nice neighborhoody restaurant. I liked the vibe immediately. The host was friendly and acknowledged us right away. Our server Sophie was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which had about 20 well designed and excellently described dishes. We had a delicious beet salad that had a great balance of flavors and textures. The scallop and corn “soup” dish was fantastic and probably our favorite. The stuffed squash blossoms were heavenly little packets of awesomeness. Maybe one of the most unique preparations of squash blossoms I have ever had. We had the Lamb Rack and frankly it didn’t stand up to rest of the meal. It was a bit fatty and required some work to eat, which is ok but the steak knife was super dull. We finished off with their deconstructed S’mores dessert. Absolutely wonderful. They comped our dessert for my birthday which was extremely thoughtful and no small gesture in my opinion. The wine and beverage menu was well rounded and had a few very good NA options. We will definitely be back. This is a fantastic value, thus the Bibb Gourmand designation.

Tight space.i was disappointed. Small. Not many tables. Had Chicago Restaurant Week menu: 3 courses. 3 selections in appetizers 3 for main course
2 for 3rd. I chose
winter salad which was good. Variety of geens candied walnuts quinoa. Nice dressing.
Had fried chicken for 2nd.
sandwich was bland land and gummy.
Then chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Underwhelmed.
Highlight of the experience was the Bloody Mary .

Overall, everything was good. The only thing that will throw you will be the crab croquettes. For the price you pay, you get two very small portion sizes. It’s more like an appetizer than a main dish. Don’t expect it to be enough by itself. It’s a shareable item. The best bang for your buck item would be the sandwiches/burgers. They’re hefty and very filling. The quiche was very good too.

I recently had a fantastic brunch at Pompette and left feeling impressed by the entire experience. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. The food was made with high quality ingredients, well prepared, and had a nice presentation. The highlights of our meal include the crab croquets, that were made with fresh crab and perfectly seared with a delicious pepper salsa. The shrimp and grits also stood out for the quality of shrimp and creativeness of the dish by using a peanut chili oil. One of our new favorite brunch spots in the city!
