I’m honestly furious about the buffalo wings I got here. They were absolutely disgusting—so oily they were practically *swimming* in grease. The taste was awful, like they were cooked in oil that should’ve been thrown out ages ago. I couldn’t even finish them.
What made it worse? When I brought it up to the staff, they didn’t offer a refund, a replacement, nothing. Just acted like it wasn’t their problem. If that’s how they treat customers, it says everything.
I left annoyed, hungry, and completely ripped off. Save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else. This place clearly doesn’t care about quality or customer service.

Pompei Pizza is a nice and cozy little spot. The pizza is really good and tastes very fresh. The Margherita is especially delicious and is one of the best I have ever had. It is a great place to go for a simple and tasty meal.

This is absolutely some of the best pizza I have had on the west side of Jersey city. Possibly the best so far! Everything from the crust to the sauce and toppings was perfectly well balanced. I also tried some of their apps like the mozzarella sticks and buffalo wings. They have a bunch of salads and I went for the delicious Ceasar option. Definitely will order again from them and glad to see them in business !

if i could give pompei 10 stars i would. my favorite neighborhood spot, never disappointed. the pizza is fresh, crust is light but substantial enough to hold the ample toppings. my favorite is the meatball pie bc they slice the meatballs to the perfect width. dont miss the salted chocolate chip cookie and/or tiramisu for dessert. the owner allie is welcoming and so talented. must visit!

Pompei Pizza serves food that would make an Italian Grandmother nod in approval. I have never experienced a pizzeria with as much attention to detail and care put into every dish on the menu. Besides the outstanding thin-crust pizza, the Italian specialties and homemade desserts put pricey white-tablecloth restaurants to shame. Stop by, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Best Pizza in JC! Don’t try to debate me it’s my opinion. Cheese impeccable, sauce magnificent, i am not a crust lover but when I tell you this crust is next level it’s krispy but pillowy at the same time and has very good flavor. Hands down just the best Damm pizza in JC. Don’t comment until you try it. And this was a take out review so imagine having it fresh out the oven! Amazing job guys

I placed an order for an 18″ pizza from Pompei Pizza (Westside Jersey Ave) expecting a simple delivery transaction. What followed was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had, and 1.5 hours of wasted time. When I called to check on my order, an employee named Ashley answered with an impatient, dismissive tone and brusquely confirmed the pizza was “in front of her,” implying I should just come pick it up. That was the first sign of poor attitude and lack of professionalism.
Their voicemail promises that orders placed directly on their site will be delivered, yet my order never arrived. When I called to resolve the issue, the self identified “owner”, Alexandra Appel, took the phone and responded with the same belligerent attitude — no apology, no accountability, and a clear unwillingness to help find a solution. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to shift blame.
To make matters worse, my two-item order was apparently packed as a single small lunch-bag sized item — entirely wrong for an 18″ pizza. They attempted to blame the Uber driver for the missing order; the driver blamed the restaurant. I was left with no food and no resolution, out of both money and time. This isn’t a simple mistake handled professionally; it feels like negligence and an unwillingness to honor a customer’s purchase.
Good customer service is essential. It’s not just about getting an order right — it’s about clear communication, taking responsibility when things go wrong, and treating paying customers with respect. Pompei Pizza’s staff displayed the opposite: rude, defensive behavior and a refusal to solve the problem. That combination — missing my order, being treated poorly over the phone, and watching the restaurant and delivery driver point fingers — makes me strongly advise against supporting this location.
Until management demonstrates real accountability, trains staff to be courteous, and fixes their delivery/ordering processes, I recommend taking your business elsewhere. There are plenty of places that value customers and actually deliver what they promise.

Pizza was okay, nothing crazy. Nice little spot where you can take a date. They had some pop up shops when I went, and that was cool.
