I order two slices for pick up as I’m on my lunch break picking up my son.
Owner I “assume” going to question my time “ well you can just come in and order it” first of all you don’t know the reason as to why I’m ordering ahead of time. I arrived at the olocation I’m handed with two slices which seemed to just be sitting stale not even warm! Additionally , I was handed my slices with a smirk stating you know there’s a “parking right there” should be more mindful of your customers rather than smart remarks. You in business because of the residents in town! Your pizza is not all that for all that attitude and poor customer service.

I wanted to love it and based on reviews I hoped I would, but the pizza pie was so thin and hardly any cheese on it and when reheated, no cheese pull at all. I had my husband bring home to Woodbridge because I don’t like places near me. Sadly disappointed, but the guy that took my order was pleasant at least. 3 stars for the customer service. Unfortunately the pizza missed the mark for me.

My father said that this pizza reminded when he was at New York 30 years ago for his work. Pizza was his main meal at that time and pizza from here is really similar to what he remembered about NY Pizza – very tasty and juicy.

I have gone to Pompei so many times, it is a family favorite. We don’t live in the area anymore but anytime we are in Bayonne to visit, we have to stop here. Before you even enter the building you can smell the freshly made dough from outside. The RC cola pairs perfectly with a plain pie. It’s a classic Italian plain cheese pizza with the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. No weird extra flavors to try and change it up. Do not even need to order ahead. It’s best freshly cooked and doesn’t take that long

From the first bite, I knew this place was something special. The crust has that perfect balance—crispy on the outside, chewy inside, with just the right amount of char. The sauce is flavorful without being overpowering, and the cheese is high quality, melted to perfection. It’s clear they know what they’re doing.
What really took it over the top for me, though, was the crew. The guys who work here are genuinely awesome—friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their food. You can feel the pride they take in every pie that comes out of the oven.
If you’re a fellow pizza snob, take it from someone who thought no place could match NYC standards—Pompeii is the real deal.
