For a restaurant attached to a gas station, I was pleasantly surprised. I had the flauta plate… the chicken was a little dry, but I loved the rice. My husband had nachos and he enjoyed them. The chips were great. This place was very busy on a Friday night…. just a heads up that they close at 8. They seem to be understaffed – it took a long time for us to check out.

We have been coming to Polly’s for years. Our service was awful this time around. Our waiter never brought us our check and we seriously thought to just get up and walk out and they probably would have never noticed. But we are honest people and it took us over 15 minutes to check out. We had to ask for a second cup of coffee. They are very understaffed and it wasn’t even that busy when we got there. We decided not to ever return. And I’m very sad about that. But this was unacceptable service for a place that has been in business as long as they have. And the first bad review I had to give.

The last few times we have gone it’s been awful. The service is horrible, the chips last time were inedible. They never have Polly’s green sauce (the mild). It’s really unfortunate. There is a distinct difference when Polly is present to when she is not. I wish the employees would operate with the same attitude and pride when she is not there as they do when she is. I grew up less than 3 miles from Polly’s and have been going there for decades. I don’t think I’ll be back. It is just not the same.

Though they were out of tamales for my drive thru order and I had to wait for a replacement, the quickness of that replacement coupled with their apology and the quality and flavor of all the the order were more than worth the wait. It is hard to find a restaurant with such heart and superb food. Well worth a visit that will turn into many happy returns.

We had an issue with DoorDash leaving part of our order behind at the restaurant. The restaurant was already closed, but one of their employees offered to drive it to us in their own car, on their own time. Going above and beyond to make your customers happy speaks volumes to the integrity of the people running this place. Oh, and the food is really really good too

I think there was 1 waitress for the whole o restaurant so it took forever. Thankfully we were eating with friends, so it wasn’t a big deal since we were having fun talking. Food was meh.. they have good queso though.

What happened? Did Ms Polly retire and leave the business to kids or sell? Service is terrible, food is just as bad. Breakfast still smacks if you get tacos to go but dining in and all other menu items are really sad. Hot sauce use to be my favorite in town now just tomato sauce. Last time I got burritos and it was two small tortillas wrapped around a little bit of greasy beef. Tonight was Aggie special which is supposed to be two enchiladas, tamale a tostada and cheese tostada. Not a tamale to be found just ground beef rolled up in corn tortilla. Hate this, so much history here.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food this is NOT the place for you. Unfortunately it seems to be watered down for white people. Ordered the chilaquiles. They didn’t have a single spicy salsa just Valentina and Tabasco. More cheese than salsa on the chilaquiles. The beans are bland absolutely no flavor. The potatoes are bland they don’t even put salt or pepper on them. Tortillas are obviously store bought and bland as well. It seems as though they put the tortilla on the grill for two seconds and brought it out since it was half cooked and cold. The food is much more expensive than what it’s actually worth. I’d recommend La Familia Taqueria in Bryan. Don’t waste your time or money here

It’s a small place, food was ok. I ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas & the meat was shredded but very bland the only seasoning was in the sauce, nothing on the meat inside. The refried beans were the best thing on my plate, I expected more from a $12 plate on the lunch menu. Kids had a grilled cheese, I should’ve order that instead. This is just my opinion.
