Terrible experience at Pollo Negro. The prices I was charged were significantly higher than what’s listed on the menu, and when I brought it up, the guy at the register laughed in my face instead of fixing it. That kind of attitude shows exactly what kind of operation they’re running.

This isn’t a mistake it’s a scam. If they’re doing this to me, imagine how many people they’re quietly overcharging every day. They refused to correct the bill and lied about the pricing, which makes them nothing short of CROOKS.

I’ve already reported this business to the local consumer protection agency for deceptive pricing practices. Save yourself the headache and your money AVOID Pollo Negro at all costs.

Delicious! Everything was amazing. The inside is a perfect place to have a date night. The music is good and the scenery peaceful. My dinner was hot, fresh and so yummy that I closed my eyes several times as I chewed!! Just enjoying the authentic taste of Mexico!

Great atmosphere/service and even better food. Gotta try the torta pambazo, and the tacos el pastor are also a favorite.

Ordered quesabirrias and they turned out burnt. Went back and the worker out front was very polite and helped us get another order, but it was also burnt (not as badly but still). Wouldn’t return, got mansplained that quesabirrias always come out burnt from here, lol. Look at the photo and tell me these are supposed to come out like that

A small independent Mexican restaurant with over 30 items on the menu. The food is authentic, not Tex-Mex as most are, and it’s delicious! CC and cash accepted.

Al pastor tacos were burnt, the tamale was very dry and the meat was old. No sopes because the cook was changing the grease (which is a good thing, but definitely at a bad time) Hubby said his steak tacos were pretty good. Too many authentic Mexican places in town to try. I do not mind spending $30 bucks for tacos, but make it worth it..please and thank you

This place has the best pastor on the Southside. Foods always hot and fresh, top notch. My favorite Mexican spot!

Update 7/16/25 – still incredible, still the best!
