I ordered Doordash –
BAD CHOICE.
App said “driver picking up food” for over 30 minutes.
Food arrived – Cold, Soggy, Greasy fried fish, onion rings.
Shrimp po-boy – Cold and greasy.
Really bad food.
I took a picture of the grease under my fish… really gross in a styrofoam container.
Doordash person came straight to our home with no other stops.
Won’t make that mistake again.
WOW !
Now I feel sick.

Please understand as I write this review I’m enjoying my fabulous meal. This was my first time ordering (doordash delivered). I got the loaded baked potato, hamburger steak with gravy/onions, and chickens&sausage gumbo. Everything is beyond delicious I plan to order other things from menu but wow I’m super impressed considering it’s my 1st time ordering

Very disappointed with our very expensive buffet dinner Saturday night. It was our first time ever going to Politz and with the menu that was advertised it seemed like a great date night. WRONG!! we walked in no welcome at all did not even see a buffet took 5 minutes for a woman to tell us to get in line in another room of restaurant, so we followed instructions however once we entered the line was through the entire room next to tables as people were trying to eat and see a cafeteria style buffet line, honestly it was not buffet like at all. Waited in line to get our food for about 25 minutes as the servers for your cafeteria style buffet were very disorganized and dysfunctional. Proceeded to get up for our turn to be served after waiting what felt like forever for them to be out of certain items that the restaurant specifically advertised for however certain people not all were able to reserve certain items from there table and have it served after you waited in line like they should have. Not once did a waitress or waiter come to our table and I mean literally NOT ONCE we had to serve our own drinks while other people were catered to. We ended up spending 74 dollars on two buffet meals that we were very dissatisfied with, however there was no one to tell because NO ONE came to our table one time. Fried fish and shrimp had absolutely no seasoning cheesy spaghetti was watery with no taste soup was full of oil and the shrimp in it were fishy we could not even try the snow crabs or boiled shrimp because they were out mind you this special ran from 430 to 8 and they were out by 515. But yet certain tables got there portions brought to them while people waited in line to be told they are out. It was a complete disaster I would NOT recommend the buffet night AT ALL TO ANYONE. When leaving the woman asked for our ticket to pay but we never received one since NO ONE ever came to our table ONCE! ABSOLUTELY will not be returning and warning people not to waste there money nor time for buffet night. Complete disaster and aggravation!

Great steak and seafood served here!! The food tastes AMAZING!! The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet, like a peaceful home-like feeling. The servers were very friendly and everyone is kind…. but it took forever to get our food!! We were there later in the evening, so maybe what we ordered had to be cooked from scratch. The food was worth the long wait because it tasted so good!! WILL definitely be going back again!

We had steak, and seafood platter, gumbo, corn and sweet potatoes for the sides. We came around 6pm, and it took over an hour to get our food, the longest wait I ever had in a restaurant. The food was good, the service was good. I just wish it didn’t take that long to eat. And maybe next time I’ll just order to go.

Hospitable Service and Delicious Food.
This place has always been my top favorite place in all of Thibodaux.
There is great food, greater service and staff works very hard to keep things running smoothly.
Recently tha COVID 19 precautions have had them facing difficulties in seating and serving large crowds but they have shown real integrity as a business. Their back section had an air conditioner problem and instead of placing patrons in that room for profit, they kept it closed and lost a significant amount of money in doing so. They did not choose to put profit before public safety. I have been there in suit and tie and in sweatpants and tee shirt and have been treated with Respect and generosity both times. Reservations may now be made over phone calls recently. For as long as this business exists, they will have a customer in me.

Dropped the ball on this visit. Spaghetti sauce watery and void of flavor. Ate a third, brought rest home didn’t get better. Blah.

The staff was super friendly and the food was very good. The portions were very generous. I am from out of town and was looking for a place to eat. The parking lot was full, so I knew it had to be a good place to pick. There is a very nice neighborhood vibe here. Everyone seemed to know everyone. I’d recommend.

This is the perfect restaurant for that member in your family who is a picky eater, including the relative who doesn’t like season or spice. Or even the elderly relative who can’t handle season or spice anymore. The food is good. The wait staff is polite.

The jumbo shrimp were very good, but the stuffed crab was tiny. The potato salad tasted like boiled potatoes, no seasoning. The seafood gumbo and shrimp PoBoy were ok. The chicken nuggets for my son looked like McDonald’s nuggets.
I expected a lot more from a seafood restaurant on the bayou.
