Poke King is a group of fast-casual poke restaurants located in Northern Nevada. We wanted to bring the Hawaiian islands traditional flavor and introduce a few twists of our own. Always fresh, healthy options and royally delicious are some of the pillars to Poke King, and we trust that’s what you’ll get every time you visit us. We knew how good poke could be when done right, so we opened up our shop in 2017 as the FIRST poke shop in the Reno-Tahoe Area. You might be asking yourself, “What is poke?” Simply, it’s cubed raw fish — like salmon, yellowtail, ahi tuna — paired with a base sauce, a bed of rice, wonton chips, or greens, and toppings like sesame seeds to green onions all ready for a DIY poke bowl you truly won’t forget!

Absolutely horrible. Asked for a medium bowl with the salmon and tuna, add some crab salad. Asked them for every single free topping. They charged $25 for an empty box. Very little rice included barely any protein. Where are the toppings? And why is this $25 when the menu clearly states $17? This is the first AND ONLY time I’ll visit.

The poke is really delicious and HUGE. For $20, you get a big bowl with 5 proteins — and not just a bowl, but a BOX, a massive one. The guy gave me two huge scoops of crab, plus mango and pineapple — such big pieces, it’s crazy. I’m eating it right now and I can confidently say THIS IS THE BEST poke I’ve ever had and the workers very sweet and smiling

20/10, literally the best poke bowl I’ve ever had from a restaurant. We ordered delivery from Uber and had never noticed this place before. I’ve had poke from most of the restaurants around Reno, as well as several places in the Bay Area and more-or-less stopped ordering because it always felt expensive for what you actually end up getting. Needless to say, this is now one of my top recommendations for places to eat in Reno, let alone favorite place for poke. I picked up the box & felt the heft, and then opened it and was immediately impressed. Presentation aside, the chunks of fish were huge and creamy–better fish than several of the sushi restaurants around town–they didn’t skimp on any toppings, the bowl was packed yet well-balanced in both flavor and sauces, and the chunks of fruit were big, ripe, fork-sized bites. It was a bowl like I would want to make for myself at home, but better. I got mango on mine and it was definitely fresh cut, and my partner got pineapple and it was the same. We also got the ice cream macarons–absolutely fantastic (the coffee is rich and deep, and the mango tastes like a bubblegum mango), and to say a restaurant made us feel like valued customers even through delivery, is something special. They wrote us cute little notes and provided an excellent customer-experience, even through an Uber order–you can tell whoever took our order was perceptive of our ordering situation as a couple and went above and beyond. Unfortunately, the Uber driver forgot our drink, but it was a fountain soda and that’s not on the restaurant. We looked up the restaurant menu and location online after our fantastic experience, and will definitely be going there in-person to try more options like their milk teas… and more macarons 🙂 We’re going to be eating here all summer.
TL;DR If you want high-quality, solid portions of poke in Reno-Tahoe, this is the place to get it.

Super impressed with Poke King. Had to drive 30 miles to Reno just to get here. Ordered a large with 5 scoops of protein for $15. They truly stack & pack the bowl right when I told them I wanted everything on it. Wish I took video when she put the lid on the bowl. That’s how you make a Poke Bowl!

Local Hawaiian bbq that offers bigger menu than the two chain brands. Limited seating, high prices and no sauce station. Great tasting food though, plenty of strip mall parking and wheel chair accessible.
