Pricer than I expected.
I showed up around noon on a Thursday, it was pretty empty. The dining room was well maintained and clean, but flies will show once the food is on the table, so don’t leave your food unattended.

I recommend the blackened seasoning. The onion rings were out of this world: crispy batter while maintaining the slight onion texture. I also recommend putting the mixed gain rice in the chowder. The two complement each other very well.

For the price, I’d like to see a bigger piece of fish and more clams in the chowder… If you ever had the chowder in Maryland, you know what I am taking about.

This is some of the best fish I have ever tasted. So much so that I went twice while visiting San Diego. While here, I got the Sea Bass with the Fish Shop Flavoring and Garlic Butter. I got it as a sandwich, and then I also got it plated. I liked it plated the best, but you can’t go wrong with a sandwich either. This will be a go to spot when I visit out here.

Both Fish and chips warm at best… pretty sure fish and fries sitting around for awhile… .Quality of food unacceptable this is from a patron of 35 years. Spoke to manager and he said “ I’m going to yell at line cook” now sure this is best approach. A total waste of $55 … would not recommend this place.

Smoked Salmon sandwich with fries ~ delicious! Sit inside and still feel like you are outside, but you can sit outside. Order at the counter, find a seat, and your food will come to you.

The food was very good.
Slipper lobster taco 4/5.
Mahi taco 5/5.
Ahi taco 4/5.
Fish shop clam chowder 5/5.
Fries 4/5.
Ambiance was very nice with open seating and plenty of sunshine. Very helpful staff. The only drawback is the location is easy to miss and the prices are a bit high. The higher prices do not take away from the portion size so that’s nice.

Best no thrills fish restaurant in town.
Great variety of fresh fish, prepared in lots of ways. I love the salmon, blackened, as a sandwich. The ceviche is great! Poke bowl is amazing. Never really had anything I didn’t enjoy.
Decent beer selection, and cocktails are adequate, but this is not a place to go to get your drank on.
Great value.

Ok so I went two days in a row and got different things. When I went on Saturday it was plenty of seating, great cashier and parking lot is small but there is street parking. If you like oysters get them, if you like clam chowder get it. The onion rings are for sure some of the best I’ve had and the blackened halibut was good. Today I had the fish house stew it was good but I prefer the clay chowder, the tko taco, the lobster taco and the fish house shrimp that’s on the favorites part of the menu were so delicious, food Is fresh, atmosphere is chill, I will definitely be back.

Never had a meal on a cross walk before. The scallop sandwich was by far my best meal in San Diego. Highly recommend!

Open air casual dining with wide choice of craft beer on tap. Order and pay at the counter then order is delivered to your table. Thursday’s has a variety of oysters on the shell for $1.25 or $1.50 ea, got my vitamin B in. During happy hour pitchers of beer $20. Sunday’s has shrimp boil with corn and potatoes starting at 1pm until it runs out. Was satisfied with the Thursday Oysters and beer.
