The Point 40 Diner has a strong local feel, with the staff knowing many of the customers by name. Despite it being our first visit, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was pleasant, though it felt a bit more like a restaurant than a traditional diner. The food was good — I had the open-faced pastrami sandwich with fries, and my wife had the open-faced turkey Reuben. For dessert, we shared a carrot cake, which was very good, with an excellent cream cheese frosting. Plenty of parking is available.

It was a very slow time of day. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the food was mid. Could have been the time of day but we will try again

We went to this diner they welcome you with love and kindness. It was my first time there. The server was very nice, kind, helpful, very attentive to all of us. It was a group of 10 people. The server didn’t even mess up our order she knew what everyone wanted and asked for. Our food was given to us in a timely fashion when we got our food it was nice and hot. Our server went over and beyond we were very pleased with the food, it was good and a good price. I will go back again. They are kid friendly also.

Adorable diner. Great location. Easy to find and ample parking. Lots of seating inside. Great ambiance.
They serve pound cake as bread! Weird but ok. I had salmon and it was delicious. The tartar sauce was good but not enough of it. The Cole slaw was good. Broccoli was over cooked.
Service was good. We were greater quickly and the waitstaff was friendly but we waited a long time to have our order taken.
There were several options for gluten free and vegetarian which was helpful.
Overall, good experience.

Point 40 is a perfectly serviceable diner, and I mean that in the best way possible. A leisurely drive through beautiful Jersey farmland delivered me to this gem of a restaurant, which I could tell right away is a favorite hangout for the locals, who were greeted warmly by our attentive server. I was in the mood for some standard diner fare — an hot open-face roast beef — and Point 40 did not disappoint. Friendly, quite clean, with a surprising flare to the bright interior. A super diner that checked all the right boxes. I hope to go back soon.

First time here. It’ll be the last. Although it’s cute & definitely has friendly staff, the food at least what I ate was terrible. I ordered the taco salad. It was not good at all and very odd items in it. There was nothing that made this a taco salad other than the not fresh shell it sat in. My husband’s breakfast looked good though so maybe more popular with breakfast foods. The waitress was super sweet though.
I will add an edit that the taco salad was removed from our bill without request so obviously they will take care of customers. They do deserve added credit for that.

I was very happy with the food, service and the atmosphere here. Nice roadside diner. Real people, counter, booth and table seating.

My husband and I stopped for breakfast. The staff is very pleasant, best part of the place. We had such high hopes due to them having award signs posted everywhere but unfortunately they don’t live up to any awards. It’s extremely expensive for an average breakfast, they don’t allow a single small substitution as all of the other diners in the area do. The lunch meals come with potato chips, if I was 7 years old that might be ok but I’m a grown up and giving a grown up potato chips is just stingy. My husband got a breakfast platter he said he couldn’t understand how eggs could have zero flavor. He did like the home fries. I had the chicken finger platter and the fingers were frozen, had terrible almost like a cardboard coating. They were awful. Most diners make theirs homemade. I’m not sure how they’ve won awards but it was so disappointing. I’d suggest please try other local diners …find out what real diner food should taste like- homemade, like Grandma would be proud of!

I’m not even sure where to start here. The food wasn’t to my liking BUT service ALWAYS makes up for the food. The meatloaf, I’m sure, not a favorite. The waitress was INCREDIBLY rude. She never refilled our glasses. I felt I was bothering her on anything I asked. I asked for sour cream with my chili and when she brought it, her response was ‘are you going to want another one?’. So, from that point on, we just made it work without bothering her again. We travel the country and today was our travel day and just arrived in the area and just wanted a good meal. I can deal with bad food but the bad service is what got me. I don’t know how she still has a job. My husband got the pork chops, bland, no seasoning. My son got the open face pastrami and didn’t like it. My nephew got a burger so, I guess burgers are the way to go here. I had to ask if they had apple pie as dessert wasn’t offered. It came cold with a scoop of ice cream, not sure why she asked me if I wanted it warmed if she wasn’t going to warm it. Oh and we only got our tea, which was really good, by the way, refilled because the owner stopped by and asked us if we wanted a refill.
