“BRAND NEW” from the Owners of Paul & Jack’s Tavern in NKC, The Poco Loco Mexican Restaurant is Now Open in the Picture Hills Shopping Center off 64th Street! Great Food made with Fresh Ingredients by an Amazing Local Family. As soon as we tasted the Pork Belly with Hot Honey & Pickled Red Onion or the Poke Bowl made with Fresh Sake Tuna over Black Beans & Guacamole or the Shrimp Ceviche We Were SOLD!

After living in Austin, Tx for five years and then moving back to Missouri eight years ago, it took about 7 1/2 years to find a Mexican restaurant in the northland that was just straightforward, good Mexican food. So many places we’d tried in search of anything comparable to the restaurants in Austin, were both flavorless and saturated in cheddar cheese. Poco Loco has many flavorful dishes, our entire family likes to eat there, great attentive service every time, and most importantly… unadulterated by “Missouri-Mex.”

Had the chimichanga with rice and refried beans. The ground beef was less than flavorful and the rice tasted like it came out of a Lipton bag. The sauce and chips were nothing special. Barely any traffic in there on a Thursday night. Sure miss the Mexican place that was there prior to this one.

We loved everything we had! Our kids liked the chips/salsa and tacos and my husband and I both loved our entrees. Mine had pulled pork and pork belly! The margaritas, both spicy and regular, were on point. The service was great and the owner was out checking on guests often.

Poco Loco has some of the best crispy tacos Kansas City has to offer. Stop in and check it out. Help keep this small business alive. The service is also spot in.

Not one to usually leave a review, but came in and we were the only group in the restaurant, all we could hear was the waiter staff talking and laughing at the bar. Talking about “rude” customers. We could barely hear each other speak at our table. Both ordered the chimichanga, it’s one 4” long with the rest of your plate covered in rice or beans for $15. The chimichanga itself was pretty good. Guac was super salty. The whole atmosphere of the place is off and uninviting. Hopefully they can make some changes.
Definitely miss the old Mexican restaurant that was here and won’t be coming back or recommending it to anyone anytime soon.

Order was extra salted Had the chimichanga, so did the wife. Had to hear the staff talking about how it sucked to be a waiter/waitress the whole time. Beans and rice from a can and steak that looked more like cat food. Look out for the KC tourist tax when you go. Added another 2% on my bill. No wonder nobody was in there at 8 on a Thursday

This is our second trip to poco loco for lunch and weren’t disappointed! This time we had a larger group that came in with us and they were very kind, very accurate, the food was amazing and their service was above anything else. Go check out this delicious small menu with authentic twists and grab a drink or two.
