I didn’t know about the gratuity if paying for cards and should be posted or said before service so people won’t be surprised. I try to pay with cash most of the time just because I’ve gotten weird charges at other bar places after I had left. Idk much of the underage age issue and do understand maybe try to put a colored wrist on the 21 plus when coming in? Just something to look at, as I see it done at other places.
I’ve been to this place before and genuinely enjoyed it. The atmosphere was fun, and the food was good, but I do have some criticism and, ideas?
The rule requiring 18 to 20 year olds to be accompanied by an individual over the age of 21 seems unnecessary. Pool and alcohol have no connection, and legal adults between 18-20 are more than capable of responsibly navigating the space on their own. Requiring supervision does not reduce any real risk and feels arbitrary.
Places like Buffalo Wild Wings have bars visible in the restaurant, yet guests of all ages can be present safely. Pockets could operate similarly: 18 to 20 year olds could play freely, while minors remain under supervision until its 8:30 and time to wrap up.
You can definetly argue that this rule protects against liability or insurance issues, but 18 to 20 year olds are legal adults capable of following rules. And if rules and standards aren’t being met, thats when staff should remove them, as they would with anybody else that causes problems. If the environment were genuinely dangerous for those under 21, then no one under 21 should be allowed in. Allowing responsible 18 to 20 year olds to play pool unsupervised is totally reasonable.
I think an individuals intentions goes a long way. If an 18 year old with good intentions walks in hoping to play some pool, there shouldnt be an issue.
There is a lot of untapped potential for this place, but confusing age restrictions made it less enjoyable this time. Clear communication and consistent policies would go a long way. This spot has the opportunity to build a community of pool enthusiasts of all ages, which should be a priority, especially since it is one of the few local places that actually offers pool tables for people to enjoy.
Bartender was very unfriendly!
Went and used the restroom. As I turned the corner a sewer/septic smell smacked me in the face.
I noticed in the floor stall that the drain was overflowing.
Between the smell and what seemed to be the unfriendly server it was time to go elsewhere.
We all agreed it was best we found a new establishment to hang out!
Establishment needs major help!
