Fast casual brunch spot with pretty good food and service. Parking is easy if you utilize the BevMo side of the plaza. Nice patio seating where you can bring your dog

Food/Drink- 4.5 stars
Everything was pretty solid. Food was excellent. Drinks were fresh
-pork chop with pomegranate sauce- pretty good and you can taste the higher quality of ingredients. Cooked perfectly
-pancakes with ricotta and blueberries- this was good, but it would’ve been better if they mixed the ricotta into the batter

-strawberry lemonade- freshly squeezed, delicious and not too sweet
-matcha strawberry latte- this was ok. It tasted like the Costco matcha powder with strawberry jam thrown in

Service- 4.5 stars
Food came out pretty quickly. They did seem a bit understaffed at the tables, as you had to fetch a server for any drinks. And there were a good amount of tables that were unavailable since there weren’t enough bussers to clean out the tables to accommodate the weekend rush

Bottom Line
Really solid brunch spot that I’ll be visiting on the regular

Bottom Line Up Front:
Poached Kitchen has everything you would want in a cool breakfast spot, from the menu and decor to the service and aesthetics — everything except the delicious food.

The Food:
Let me explain. It’s not bad. But it’s not as delicious as I had hoped, given the premium prices. My wife and I ordered the chicken and waffles, smash burger with fries, and a side of bacon.

The chicken was lightly breaded when I prefer it to be crispy while the meat was pretty dry. It was average at best. My wife’s burger was OK; again, not bad but nothing to write home about. The fries lacked the seasoning and crispness that I expect from an American-style diner. Sadly, the bacon wasn’t crunchy at all and a little on the chewy side. The only thing that was genuinely delicious was the waffles — light, airy, and just a hint of sweetness.

The Service:
The entire staff was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Excellent training by the management.

The Overvalued Setup:
Another reason for my good-but-not-great rating is that this is a fast-casual restaurant. You walk up and order at the front counter like a fast-food joint but you wait to be seated and they bring the dishes out to you. However, you don’t get a dedicated server so no one will attend to you and you’ll need to flag someone down for help. Nothing wrong with that, per se … except that the meal prices are as high as sit-down full-service restaurants.

The Location:
It’s located at the corner of Imperial Highway and Santa Ana Canyon Road, tucked inside a shopping complex with a poorly designed parking lot. (It’s beside the Bev Mo.) Parking can be difficult to find during peak hours.

Inside, the place is clean and well organized, with comfortable chairs. The bathroom has a shared sink space in the open, while individual toilets are behind fully closed doors. That’s a convenient set up if you just want to wash your hands.

The Conclusion:
I really wanted to love this place but was disappointed by the average-tasting food sold for above average prices in a fast-casual setting — definitely less bang for the buck. Will I try it again? Possibly, to try the other menu items in hopes this was just an off day for the cook.

Absolutely loved our experience at Poached Kitchen! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous and everything tasted homemade with great attention to detail. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. The ambiance is bright and relaxing perfect for enjoying a delicious meal. Definitely one of the best brunch spots in the area.

Finally got to try Poached in Anaheim and wow — it did not disappoint! The food was so good — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated.

Service was super quick and the staff was really friendly. We didn’t have to wait long at all, which is always a plus when you’re hungry!

Also, random but important — their restroom was really clean. You don’t always get that at busy spots, so that stood out to me too.

Definitely coming back. If you haven’t been, go check it out!

We really enjoyed our breakfast as the food was delicious. We all got something different and everyone was impressed. The four star is for the price as we did feel it was a little over priced. The service was great, but it would have been nicer to have larger water glasses. The homemade jam was amazing.

Poached in Anaheim is a must-visit for breakfast and brunch! The quality of the dishes is amazing, and the generous portions truly make the higher prices worthwhile. I tried the chicken and waffles, with perfectly cooked and breaded chicken. Also pictured is the huevos rancheros and the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes—each one a solid 10/10!

Even with being super super busy, our food arrived quickly, and the staff was friendly and attentive. If you’re in the area, be sure to check out Poached; you won’t be disappointed!

Recently visited Poached in Anaheim Hills for breakfast and was not disappointed! I ordered the eggs Benedict, and it was cooked perfectly. The aioli they spread on the bread was delicious and really elevated the dish. It came with a side of potatoes that were seasoned and cooked just right—crispy and flavorful.

Poached is a charming little spot with a covered patio that’s perfect for enjoying a morning coffee. While you place your order at the counter and choose your own table, the staff brings a glass bottle of water and cups to the table, along with your food and drinks.

Great food, relaxing atmosphere—I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Walked in thinking it would be a decent breakfast. Walked out planning my next visit.

First up, the chicken and waffles. Crispy, juicy chicken. Buttery waffle with the perfect edge crunch. It hits every note.

Then the blueberry lemon pancakes. Tart, sweet, and stacked so fluffy they almost float. Easily the best pancakes I’ve had in months.

And the breakfast burrito? We weren’t even planning on ordering it. Total sleeper hit. Stuffed with sausage, bacon, chorizo, eggs, and more. Wrapped tight. Grilled crisp. That burrito showed up and showed out.

Everyone’s talking about the Birria Short Rib Benedict, the Short Rib Omelette, and the Chilaquiles Rojos. After tasting what this kitchen can do, believe the hype. That Birria Benedict is next on my list.

Inside, the place is calm and bright. Open layout. No loud music. Super comfortable. Even though it’s fast casual, the service is fast, friendly, and on point.

Pro Tips
• Sit outside if the weather’s good.
• Order the burrito. Don’t think. Just do it.
• Go early. This spot gets busy for a reason.

Final Call
Poached Neighborhood Kitchen is the real deal. Anaheim brunch spots just got some serious competition. This place is fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth your time.

Great place for breakfast. The coffee is strong and the service friendly and quick. The options are plentiful and not the usual breakfast fare. Their Machaca was chock full of peppers and had a great taste, not your usual greasy meat. The scramble came loaded with sausage and the hashbrowns had a delicious crispness to them. Would definitely visit again to try some other options…or get the same thing. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean, too.

Got the classic breakfast and so that’s probably where we went wrong. Their fancier stuff looked good. Got scrambled eggs with cheese and I make fluffier eggs at home, sausage was dry and over cooked, hash browns mushy not crisp. Still would come back, but order something else. Staff awesome and quick, helpful, place is clean.
