PO Sam’s is one of those places that feels genuinely local the moment you walk in. The restaurant is run by Matt and Presley, and you can tell the menu reflects Matt’s years traveling the country as a contractor and discovering regional food along the way.
The black bean soup had a strong Southwest Santa Fe influence with a subtle Cajun spice that gave it real depth. I also tried the shrimp and polenta, which was excellent. The shrimp had a blend of Southwest and Cajun seasoning, and the creamy polenta had a warm cheese infusion and finished with fresh pesto. The flavors were balanced and memorable.
They also serve Libby Logger Lite, a lager made specifically for the restaurant, along with BiasBrewing that is also handcrafted for PO’ Sam’s. It’s a great mix of local Montana flavor with creative influences from around the country.
Friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, and a menu that feels thoughtful and unique. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re visiting Libby.

Amazing food, atmosphere, and staff !!! Best food we have had in 30 yrs. Brisket and smoked pulled pork is moist and explodes in your mouth with flavor! The burgers are amazing as well and there is a burger dressing bar to pick your burger condiments and sauces yourself. And the PIZZA!!!! … Homemade crust that is hand tossed and you can taste the yeast just like homemade bread with amazing topping choices like the smoked pulled pork and brisket… yep… on a pizza.
We are new to town and the wait staff as well as the 2 chefs showed us around the restraunt including the brick pizza oven and the mammoth smoker both inside the huge kitchen.

I treated my guests to dinner to go Wednesday evening. I had been to Po Sam’s for lunch several weeks ago and it was very good. Last night the chicken was so dry and smoke flavor very strong. Very bland and tiny portions of garlic mashed potatoes and tiny cup of coleslaw. The tacos were dry meat with cheese with side of sour cream. I was very disappointed and both meals went unfinished.

08/09/25 three people 6:30 sat promptly. Waited until about 7 and no wait staff even acknowledged our presence. At that point we walked out and went to Doris’s pizza and had a great pizza.

The atmosphere was rustic and comfortable, very clean and friendly staff. The food was absolutely killer. My husband has the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and said it was the best he had ever ate.
This place has a few bad reviews but not sure why, I will 100% be back.

The owner was pretty cool and personable. The bartender, Keisha, had been amazing at making our drinks. Never missed! Had the fried pickles and they were very crispy, which I like. Good portion too. Also had the steak with garlic mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The steak and potatoes were good, but the mixed veggies stole the show. Grilled and seasoned to perfection. Back here for a third time trying the Moko pizza. It looked good when I saw it yesterday. I’ll update after I try it.
They also have a golf simulator, darts, and a few slot machines. Fun place to enjoy food and drinks.

We had the Nashville hot sandwich, pulled pork plate, fries and fried pickles, plus cocktails! It was honestly great. Great seasoning on the fries, pickles were thin and crispy, the meat falls apart easily, great tasting and everything well seasoned! Best of all. You can tell that a bunch of the food is local and fresh!! Seems like fries cut in house. SO fresh and veggies are truly seasonal for Montana. Drinks are strong and atmosphere was awesome. Cheers to a great family run business in a small town. This really hit the spot after a full day huckleberry picking!
DO NOT listen to these out of towers who crap on anything and everything. Po Sam’s is new and learning things every day. The food is good. The people are good. Respect the effort it takes to start a business in a town that is well below national poverty levels. These ungrateful tourists are ridiculous and lack awareness.
