Very good Mexican and Latin cuisine restaurant in Bernardsville. We either eat or order from there all the time. It’s a breath of fresh air in a town dominated by countless Italian restaurants. Good food, relatively decent prices, free parking in the back, and casual atmosphere. The braised short rib enchiladas with mole sauce and the Shrimp a la Diabla are the best. Our kids love the fajitas.

We just had a delicious dinner there. I had the fajitas of shrimp and chicken. The shrimp were about 5 inches or more tall. We had guacamole and it was absolutely delicious. Plus the service was wonderful. Definitely a fantastic place and will definitely be back again for many more delicious dinners. The service was also great and very very friendly atmosphere. Thanks! And the salsa was very fresh with diced ingredients.

Got the trio tacos – Terrible!! Dry and cold, like they attempted to reheat old meat chunks. And $14?!
The shrimp and beans quesadilla was the redeeming star, this was actually delicious.
I also ordered a side of guac, you would think that would come with chips? But nope.

This is the third time we have eaten at Takel and the food is consistently delicious. The restaurant is immaculately clean and the service was wonderful. The portions are large and we have enough leftovers for another meal. We can highly recommend this great gem of a Mexican Restaurant in the Middle of Bernardsville, NJ.
