I often meet clients at Plaza Azteca, and it’s become one of my go-to spots for real estate meetings in Sioux Falls. The food comes out impressively fast for a full sit-down restaurant, which is perfect when you’re squeezing in lunch or dinner between showings, closings, and property tours.
The atmosphere is welcoming and professional, making it easy to talk through home-buying plans, market strategy, or next steps without feeling rushed. Service is consistently attentive, the menu has something for everyone, and everything I’ve had has been fresh and flavorful.
If you’re looking for a reliable Sioux Falls restaurant that’s great for business lunches, client meetings, or casual networking, Plaza Azteca is a fantastic choice.

Hands down the BEST Mexican i have ever tasted! If you want real Mexican food, dont hesitate to try this place out. Price is somewhat in the middle to high range, but we’ll worth investment.

We’ve eaten at Plaza Azteca many times since they first opened and their food and service is consistently great!! We enjoyed everything we’ve ordered from their free chips w/salsa & white sauce (all very delicious!) to their street elote appetizer (our favorite!), the Lorado Grill, their Garlic Shrimp dish (served with at least 12 large, plump shrimp & lots of avocado!) & their 3 flavorful, juicy Birria tacos, just to name a few. Everything is always tasty & the portions are HUGE! They do not skimp on the important stuff like steak, beef, chicken, shrimp, avocados & such. Their servers are the BEST too, super friendly, quick & always pleasant. Love the clean simplistic, modern decor and pleasant atmosphere. We have a large family & Plaza Azteca is everyone’s favorite Mexican restaurant in Sioux Falls!! We’ve never had a bad meal or poor service, even at their busiest times (which it usually is!). We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone we know!

I ordered Chile Verde and it was fantastic! The serving size was huge, so much pork, I couldn’t finish it. Corn tortillas, rice, beans were good. Place was crowded and service was pretty good. Prices are great, giant plate of great food for $18.

Pretty cool place, lacked the airplane in margarita flight google had pictured. Still an overall great experience, but the airplane would’ve soared it up past excellent. Would still recommend.

I am not sure I understand the hype of this place. Our server took our food order promptly which was nice, but then we never saw them again. Our food came out very quickly after ordering, like minutes (meaning it’s probably not as fresh as people think; I know most want fast food, but I would rather have fresh food). Quality was ok, and portions on some dishes were fine (my friends tacos looked great and he said his chicken was good, my enchiladas were tiny and dry); but I felt it to be overpriced compared to similar dining experiences in town. And as cool as it was to see them making fresh guacamole to tables who requested it, the decision to leave an open ceiling during construction and have zero sound proofing of any kind was a wild choice because the sound of them making the guacamole is so loud and overstimulating throughout the whole area that’d you’d think they’re making guac for everybody. I felt like I had to yell across the table to my friend just so we could continue our conversation over the sound lol the experience wasn’t for me, but maybe it is for you.

Overall the experience we had was great. We were able to walk in and sit down right away. The food came out faster than we expected. The meal choices we had were delicious and they gave us great portions for the price. The staff was friendly and the environment was lively. They have a nice sized patio for the warmer months.

My husband and I ordered the chimichanga dinners. He got chicken while I got shredded beef. Both were fantastic! We love their salsa as well. We also ordered the house frozen margaritas and they were great compared to most places around sioux falls. Other places you pay a fortune and can’t even taste the alcohol. But theirs were actually very tasty! My 7yr old doesn’t care for Mexican food. So she got the chicken fingers and fries. And even those were really good! The service was wonderful as well. We really enjoyed our lunch here!!

We loved our first lunch at Plaza Azteca! We had heard good things so decided to try it out. We loved the atmosphere from the moment we walked in!
Cristian our waiter was so friendly and took time to talk about different things on the menu and drink menu with us. We of course started with chips/salsa, they also included their own ranch that was actually awesome when you combined them!
My husband had the Burrito Texano and a Plaza Azteca Barrel Old Fashioned (both delicious)
I had the Fajita Taco salad with grilled shrimp. Wow!! The shrimp were crispy without being breaded or greasy – so delicious!
We mentioned the cocktail was so good and asked questions about the tequila used so Cristian brought over the bottle of the restaurant’s own anjeo blend and seemed so happy we knew about it enough to discuss it.
We will be back and we will bring friends! Can’t wait to try the tableside guacamole!!

Just tried Plaza Azteca for the first time based on some recommendations from friends. Tried the tableside Guac and was impressed by the presentation and the taste. We tried several dishes and the shredded beef chimichanga really shined and was the favorite of the night. We finished with fried ice cream and both concluded it was simply one of the best we ever had. We found the service to be very fast and accommodating. Five star meal for sure.
