The food runners were robots as you can see in another reviewer’s post. Servers meet the robot to transfer the food on the table. It’s genius, honestly. Especially when busy! It gives servers more time with their tables.
The Olympics, news, and other shows were on the TVs above the bar which is visible by the whole restaurant. The decor was warm and welcoming. It wasn’t too hot or too cold either which is hard to do. The whole restaurant started clapping when someone had a birthday. The whole restaurant which was full. Everyone there was happy and enjoying their experience.
Another server had a large party. I watched as two robots came up and another server came to help pass out food. A huge no-no is auctioning off food. “Who had the blah blah blah?” The server of the table knew what everyone had and directed him to who rogue the plates while also taking the correct plate to the correct person. That’s a big deal to not have to auction off food as I call it. I was impressed. I still liked our server better. She was more personable. The kitchen did get the sides of the kid meals wrong and forgot half my husband’s meal but she took care of it right away.
Everything was wonderful. I do recommend the queso appetizer. It was filling and delicious.
Don’t get the French fries though… no matter what. They tasted like they were fried in old oil or old then refried. So so so bad. The kid chicken tenders were hard fried as well but luckily the chicken inside the thick breading was alright.
The vibe inside was super cool — relaxed, colorful, and lively without being loud. But the real showstopper?
THE ROBOTS.
Yes, actual robots delivering food to tables ✨. I wasn’t sure if I should clap, tip it, or ask it for stock advice.
I ordered the chicken soup, and ohhhh my goodness… this bowl was a masterpiece. The chicken tasted like it had been marinated in its own secret flavor universe before ever meeting the broth. Layers of flavor, rich sauce, and vegetables with just the right amount of crisp — not mushy, not raw, just chef’s kiss perfection .
The whole vibe was laid‑back, exactly what weary travelers need. Our server was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and kept our drinks topped off like a hydration ninja . It gave us the perfect chance to unwind and actually enjoy conversation without shouting over a crowd.
Great food, great service, cool atmosphere, and robots delivering dinner?
Yeah… Plaza Azteca was a win.

I started with the Watermelon margarita (10/10) it was refreshing and actually decently strong too. For food, I decided to try their Seafood chimichangas (8/10) they come either soft or fried; I chose fried, but because they’re smothered with lobster bisque, the tortillas were soggy regardless. Overall, I did enjoy the flavors and the creamy lobster bisque smothering the chimichangas, I just think maybe some spice or cooked peppers were missing.
Definitely one of my go to spots for sure. I’ll be back soon because they have some new holiday seasonal drinks out and I didn’t see the sign until I was leaving, so now I have a reason to go back soon!
My overall rate of experience : 9/10
I ordered the combo fajitas that was supposed to come w shrimp chicken and steak… I literally had 3 pieces of steak. The shrimp was delicious though, and it wasn’t over cooked. The music was a tad loud; we had to almost yell at eachother to hold a conversation, or had to keep repeating ourselves. Our waitress was nice
My husband ordered the California burrito, and the chicken inside was so tender and the cheese sauce on top was tasty.
There was a tiny mixup with which beer my husband ordered but the waiter quickly fixed it. Overall good experience.
