Amazing. Absolutely exceeded all expectations. Our server, Azia, was exceptional. Super polite, fantastic food suggestions, and was super pleasant and helpful. The food was terrific, the portions were large (doggy bags needed AND wanted). Everything tasted authentic but elevated. Will absolutely return and try many more dishes!

Plaza Azteca in the middle of Altoona was such a great find! In a town without a ton of restaurant options, it was clearly the place to be. The space is decorated in a modern, bright, and inviting style that makes you feel welcome right away. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we loved the table-side guacamole—made fresh right in front of us and absolutely delicious.
What really stood out for me was the menu. They had more than a couple vegan options, which automatically earns them an extra star in my book. It’s not always easy to find that in smaller towns, so I was pleasantly surprised.
I don’t know when I’ll be passing through Altoona again, but if I do, Plaza Azteca will definitely be a stop for me.

Went here for the first time. I really enjoyed the food. Super yummy. I’m picky about food, but what we got was super yummy. Waiter was nice, came to table fair amount times. (I like when come over so many times to make sure we’re okay lol, not to little not to much hahaha) was fast as well

A+ .. Such great service here and the food is packed full of all kinds of authentic flavors too! The guacamole is the best I’ve had in a very long time. Queso is a must have!! Love the atmosphere here and everyone is so nice and it is very clean here, great visit and will be back again!

My family has been coming here for our celebrations for a few years now. Every time, we have FABULOUS service! The waiters and waitresses are always on their best game for us and are beyond friendly. As a larger group, it can be a bit of a challenge but they have never made us feel that way. We absolutely adore Suni and Lucas David. We always love conversing and joking with them. We will be back, of course!

Food was great!!!! My nieces and my husband had the burritos (which were HUGE!!! and delicious!!), I had the pineapple stuffed with peppers, steak, chicken and onions which was pretty good as well. Ivis was our server and he was AMAZING! Super attentive, patient and very welcoming; was always making sure we were ok and had everything we needed. Brought our good extra quick as well. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better!

I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, mainly because I don’t like spicy food. When I went to Plaza Azteca in Altoona I was pleased to find that my server Sierra was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to suggest food that I would like. She was also very attentive without being overbearing. The food she had suggested was amazing and I will definitely be returning and asking for her as my server again!
