My dear long-distance college bestie and I arrived in this beach town road-trip road-trip hungry, when a sudden lightning storm shut down the boardwalk pizza parlors and sent everyone on the running. We drove in search of anyplace open and found the most beautiful spot: PlayaMexa. This family-owned restaurant fed us shrimp tacos and carne asada bowls and whipped up fresh guacamole twenty minutes before closing and gave us a birthday dinner a thousand times more delicious and personal than some surfside fish and chips would’ve been. Full bellies and full hearts and lots of gratitude tonight.

Was looking for a place to eat and saw playa mexa. A family owned Mexican restaurant with amazing customer service. It also doubles as a store for last minute vacation needs. The man behind the counter checked in multiple times to see if we were ok and kept a pleasant attitude the whole time.
