Honestly the best playa bowls I’ve went to. Great customer service and everything is always fresh and just the way I ordered it. I’ve went to four different playa bowls in Nj and one in New York, none of them could compare to this one. They also pack your bowl nice and full. Worth all the money and my new favorite place to eat.

The staff was great. I took someone in that was new. They had no idea what anything was. The staff was patient and took time to explan options and to test a couple of foundations. So they could decide on what they wanted to try. We were both happy with the experience and the bowl.

This incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, January 14, 2026. When I arrived at the store, there was a male employee at the counter, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, with dreadlocks and white headphones. He was Black. There was also a female employee, approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, slightly overweight, Black with dreadlocks.
Even though my order was ready, the female employee continued working on other orders instead of handing me mine. I waited about 15 minutes unnecessarily. When I asked her politely to give me my order, she just looked at me without responding and kept working on the other tasks. Only after finishing everything else did she finally hand me my order. This disappointing experience has led me to leave a 1-star review.

I love and appreciate that there is a Playa Bowl in location in East Orange. I don’t have to travel all the way to Newark anymore. The interior design is beautiful , the staff were on point , they were very friendly and super helpful. I’ll be back for sure, it’s about to be my new hangout spot .

Since this business has come into town it has provided a healthy option for breakfast, afternoon or a late night snack. The employees are always personable and eager to take your order(s). The place is always clean, almost like one is ever there but this place stays busy. One note for those that park by the store on Monday – Friday from the hours of 9 AM to 12 noon there is no parking during that time, however, if you put on your flashers the police generally know that you are in the store making a purchase and will not ticket you. But be diligent and watch for them while waiting your order, you never know if its that one officer that isn’t as lenient as the others.
