We visited Plate @ The Bird at Christmas and it was a truly wonderful experience! Every dish was packed with flavour and we loved the little festive touches woven throughout!
The plating was so clever and creative, and it tasted just as good. It was a tremendous way to kick off the festive season – the photos really speak for themselves…!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. We went on a Friday and had their Tomahawk steak offer. I would 100% recommend it. The steak was cooked perfectly, all the sides were delicious and I am still thinking about the chips and the cabbage!
The service was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxed and the surroundings were beautiful. The staff were helpful and friendly and they even gave us a little birthday treat for my husband’s birthday. It was all fantastic.
The only negative, if you can call it that, is that I was so full from the tomahawk offer that I couldn’t fit in a dessert! I had a hot chocolate instead and that was also absolutely delicious.
Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Plate and will definitely be back as soon as I can.

We had the 1kg tomohawk (to share). It was such a great plate of food. The service was fantastic and the resturant had a lively atmosphere (bearing in mind we did eat early in the evening).
Would highly reccomend a visit if you havent already!

After arriving in Bath from London, there was only one place we could go to for a Sunday roast, after finding it on Instagram. We had drinks on the terrace as we were a bit early for our booking – lovely, relaxed area overlooking some of the features of Bath centre. The staff were attentive and very friendly. I would definitely recommend the chicken and beef roasts.

We popped into Plate at The Bird on Sunday for a proper roast dinner, and what a treat it was. Knowing it would be busy, we sensibly booked earlier in the day, a rare moment of organisation on our part.
Upon arrival, we were quickly seated, and our orders were taken with impressive efficiency. The staff were brilliant, attentive without being overbearing, and always on hand with a smile. The restaurant itself, tucked under The Bird hotel, has a quirky yet stylish feel with plenty of character. There is also outdoor seating for those brave enough to trust the British weather.
Now, onto the main event, the food. Absolutely fantastic. Every bite was packed with flavour, the roast was cooked to perfection, and we left thoroughly satisfied and slightly in need of a nap. Next time we are in Bath, we will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

We ate outside on a fine weekday. Uncrowded and quiet. Parking available right outside at that time. Very comfortable seating inside and out. The lentil and chicken dishes were good but we had to wait a long time for them to arrive.

Called in for lunch and it was very good indeed. We both had the White Crab for starters and my wife had another starter the pig cheek for her main course, I had the venison. All the dishes we very well cooked and presented. In all one of the best lunches we have had for a while. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

my best friend took me here for afternoon tea (pre booked) – we were sat outside (luckily the weather was lovely!) and ordered our drink choices. i then asked our server, Maya, if it would be possible to swap the salmon sandwiches as neither of us like salmon and she arranged that with the chef, which was really helpful for us.
the food was nice and the scenery/decor was super cute. it’d be good if they had music but there were enough people for an atmosphere.
i’d recommend this to anyone visiting bath but just note that parking can be difficult in the area, especially on the weekend.
