PLate is not a typical business venture. PLate is a fun and focused adventure built on deep friendships, a sense of family, and our proud community. We started with a 1900’s farmhouse on South Main and very diverse backgrounds and skills. The common denominator became our passion for doing things the right way, whether designing a unique building, preparing a distinctive dish, or stirring a signature cocktail. OUR MISSION at PLate has been clear from the start: To create a branded, upscale American eatery in downtown Prior Lake known for consistently producing distinctive high-quality food and beverages for its community of customers. There is a neighborhood focus, but an inviting atmosphere for all.

Reviews
The atmosphere was friendly, welcoming, and amazingly hospitable. If you’re looking for a nice night out, this should be on your list. I recommend it for romance, special occasions, self-pampering, business dinner, and milestone dinner.

Two of us with one drink each and one entree each was $125 before tip. Establishment was not aware of this review and no compensation was given.
We decided to share 3 appetizers.
Calamari, Steak bites, and crab cakes
At first I thought they had brought out onion rings, that’s how large the calamari rings were.
They were soggy and sat in a puddle of oil.
The steak bites didn’t have any seasoning.
The crab cakes were mushy. Good size though.
While they call each sauce the items came with something different, all three were the exact same! Someone there sure likes chipotle.
Our server was very nice and she made great drink recommendations.
All in all, no need for us to go back. Total bill with two drinks $99
Stopped in for a birthday dinner date with my wife. Had heard good things so we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed.
We started with the Steak Bites. I’m not sure you could make steak bites any better. Perfectly tender, flavorful, and the sauce was a delicious addition.
The Paella and Chicken Francais special were also delicious. They don’t skimp on the protein portions and the price is still reasonable.
They threw in two mini cheesecakes for the birthday which was appreciated.
Service was good and they seem to be younger local residents which is good to see.
The wait staff was great. Very engaging, attentive. Well done. Everyone that came to table, water, drinks, bus table, etc..
Atmosphere was busy, louder than I would like. Two seat tables were wider than I would have liked – get a booth, for sure.
Drinks were well executed. Old fashioned had no muddling, though the taste didn’t really “need” a cherry or orange peel. Besides, old fashions come in many varieties and styles. Pineapple martini was good, score 7 out of 10.
Deserts were cheesecake flight and tiramisu. Flight was especially good, chocolate/caramel, key lime and pistachio? The tiramisu needed more cocoa on top, skip the cream and strawberries, but that’s me; you might like it.
Bathrooms were nice, clean, roomy. The lavatory sink really needs adjustment for hotter water. Really way too cold.
Parking is very open, though you may walk a little die to high demand between the grouping of the restaurants in that corner of the city.
I would definitely return.
