My husband and I sat at their quaint bar (5 bar stools) and Spencer, the bartender was friendly & efficient. He brought us water without our asking and chilled two glasses for our beer. I think the lights above the bar though could be dimmed more. Delicious bread with 3 different spreads also arrived (complimentary). There was an olive oil & hot pepper, whipped feta & honey and tapenade (crushed olives). All 3 were yummy! We started with the crab cake appetizer (2 crab cakes) that were flavorsome. We shared two entrees: Steak tips with French fries and short ribs with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Both entrees were hearty and savory and reasonably priced. And hand delivered by the chef himself! He was cordial and appreciative for our choosing his restaurant for our “date night”! I also had a glass of Merlot that was fairly priced at $10. There is ample free parking. Overall, our dining experience at Plat Du Jour Bistro was wonderful and we’ll definitely be back.

Just had the most delicious brunch. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left we felt right at home! Such a hidden gem, a must try! I had the Irish Benedict sooo full of flavor and my husband had the steak and egg so delicious and full of flavor, steak melted in your mouth so glad I stole a piece off his plate. Haha! We will be back!!!

Went for a children’s event. It’s great that they put these special days together. Food was excellent with small sandwiches, French toast, and sweets. Tea was delicious and look forward to trying more. Our daughter had a wonderful time and loved the hot chocolate.

Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here last week. Nice atmosphere with an attentive staff and the food was phenomenal. We started with the lamb lollipops with Moroccan spice rub & mint pesto. They were so good we had to order a 2nd serving! Then we had steak frites and the beef wellington both of which were also great. Finished it off with a delicious mouse au chocolat. Highly reccomend checking this place out!

I traveled over an hour to try this hidden gem. To say without a doubt I would be back. I have severe food allergies and their service staff and management handled it perfectly. I highly recommend coming and trying this restaurant gives you a home like feeling and the food is as you feel from the start of entering the restaurant to the time you leave.

Homey atmosphere, French-inspired food home-cooked style. Delicious escargot, divine desserts. Amazing hospitality and welcoming, attentive and friendly service without “hovering.” On-spot wine list. A most welcome addition to north shore suburban dining.

Our Tea Group went here about 5 months ago. It was wonderful. The food was very good. It was a relaxing afternoon. All afternoon teas are different. That is what makes it fun.

I went for afternoon tea. We were the only ones there for tea. There 3 of us. We each got a pot of tea, plus shrimp and corn chowder plus a salad. That was very good. Once finished with that, the 3 tier tray was delivered. The chicken curry salad was extremely salty and basically inedible. The other choices were ok. Salmon with capers and a cucumber sandwich The croissants, macaroons, quiche were good. We had no idea how much high tea would cost but I have been to high tea in NYC and it was $65 a person. This was $55 a person. Fun to do once, but pricing did not match up with quality of the food. Our server was pleasant.

Honestly one of the BEST dining experiences I’ve had in recent history. I could not imagine having a bad time here. Despite not having reservations on a Saturday Night, we were able to sit at the bar as we waited for a table. The bartender Spencer was very friendly and a joy to be served by. He suggested the Pistachio Martini and it was AMAZING.
We were able to sit at a table shortly after. The homemade Focaccia bread and the dipping sauces were amazing. We were waited on by Ryan and he was an absolute pleasure, very funny and attentive. We started off with some delicious grilled octopus and eventually ordered the beef Wellington, cooked to absolute perfection. We ordered a few more drinks and ended the night on a delicious chocolate Mousse.
We could not recommend this place enough, all of the staff seemed so happy and friendly. Met the chef owners, so passionate and knowledgeable.
Lovely little place, 10/10 cannot recommend enough!
