Very cool vibe if you love pop culture! They have a massive screen with a movie playing and amazing posters and other pop culture art all over.

This venue is really retro, novel, and fun. It has the feel of a video rental store from the 90s but with more cinematic wall art. Snacks available, no hot food. Service staff is excellent.

This is my favorite place in Louisville. A true hidden gem.
You can come in at any time and catch whatever VHS classic is being projected onto the huge screen behind the stage, or head back to the private game room for some classic arcade games and pinball.

If you’re looking for a good laugh I’ve never had a bad experience here and I’ve been multiple times! I am very pleased with our date night last night and highly recommend going! We are sober and they had plenty of mocktails to choose from as well!

There was a cool vibe at the bar. Laid back, you could bring your own food, or shareable items. Having the chance to watch old horror movies from the 80s was a definite classic way to spend my last night in Louisville. Everyone fit in.

listen to me – Planet of the Tapes is the greatest place in the known universe and it deserves your attention. it is the roadhouse from twin peaks come to life. they are building something truly special in Louisville and you should take one night out of your week to go to a trivia, comedy, or band show, or just to see a movie with friends. they even have some great non-alcoholic options and i don’t think they get enough credit for their menu.

If I could give 6 stars, I would without question. Words cannot express how excited my boyfriend and I were when we found this place. Every tiny detail of this place is INCREDIBLE. Not very often do you find a bar like this!! We live 4 hours away and will be planning future trips JUST for Planet of the Tapes. Locals can rent movies from their extensive library of DVD’s or come to kick back and watch a movie, catch a comedy show or play some trivia. The staff was wonderful. So friendly and welcoming. Table service makes for a relaxing experience. And their themed drinks are spot on. This place is truly heaven on earth.

This was my first time going. First time seeing a synthesizer show. I really enjoyed myself. It was a chill atmosphere and I love how it was decorated. One of the artists, named Kyle was amazing! Seeing him work in his element was awe inspiring! Great show to all participants. Highly recommend
