PK Shabu delivered an amazing experience from start to finish. From picking out fresh vegetables and noodles to choosing beautifully finely sliced meats straight from the butcher shop, everything felt high-quality and thoughtfully done. Adding it all to the broil and selecting our flavors was the best part—I went with curry, my wife chose spicy, and we were both absolutely delighted. Topping it off with the variety of sauces took it to the next level.

What truly made the experience stand out was the service. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive, constantly checking on us and clearing the table, making the entire meal feel seamless and enjoyable.

Highly, highly recommended if you’re in the Mesa area. We’ll definitely be returning!

From the moment we arrived the service was outstanding. friendly and attentive.
The food was amazing. Everything was fresh. The handroll sushi’s were great. The hot pot was a great experience. They also have Miguel back there that hooks it up with whatever youd like to mix up. I got me a spam fried rice

Interesting hot pot. I have experienced several different establishments, this has unique qualities. My server was arguably one of the best servers i have had anywhere this year. He explained everything and tailored some to one of my guests unique dietary requirements. All food was fresh and tasty. Many items are not on most hot pot selections. I would plan on returning next time im in Phoenix greater area, or passing thru

I came here years ago when It first opened in the quality of the food, was not the best and still the same crap quality after a year some of the meat had discoloration on the edging, which is due from oxidation from being exposed to air too long, so I’m assuming they have these meat sitting somewhere exposed open it made me stop wanting to put orders in for meat and it seems like after a few years, passing by the quality has even gotten worse most of the things displayed in regards to vegetables looked not the freshest as well some of the ingredients aren’t really properly cut up so they were all very uneven weird sizes as well as the only seafood I tried, which was muscles. Every piece I had gotten had big pieces of either sand or rock or something, but it hurt my teeth at one point when I bit down into one they obviously don’t clean their seafood, didn’t smell fresh anyway it was so fishy in taste I ordered corn cheese and that was prob the worst tasting one I’ve had in my life why did the cheese in it taste rancid?? and the tables are so small you really don’t have room to put stuff anywhere around you as they have there items lined up like a deli type of bar, which is a bad idea because the sauce bar area some of the things you can’t really reach because of the windows that they have overhead of the items displayed, so you have to try to reach your arm all the way back while your face is smashing onto this piece of glass causing sauces to spill everywhere and they have napkins just right in front because they’re used to it, which was pretty gross to see spilled sauce all over that and stuff they could’ve just easily re-organize this to make that not be a case

Came here last year and had a good experience, good food and environment. Today was a different experience, it took the server 20 minutes after serving the hotpot broth to bring the drinks over. We where only able to order a single order of sushi when we where given the check. A very different experience, felt rushed and not a very good customer service experience especially for the $80 fee. Do not recommend and will not be returning.

Think of it as a bottomless bowl of soup. There is a buffet style line with fresh vegetables, seafood, and meats. Pick your flavor of broth, then go fill your plates with whatever you want in your soup. They don’t have fountain drinks only cans. So you will pay for every drink, no free refill. Otherwise it’s a clean and fun investment if it’s your first time get there early they do fill up after 7 especially on the weekends

Great Service, but the Food Falls Short

I recently visited PK Shabu in Mesa, and while the experience was decent, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to assist with anything we needed, and it deserves four stars.

However, when it comes to the food, I’d rate it three stars. They offer a variety of meats, vegetables, and even sushi, which is nice in theory. But unfortunately, the quality didn’t quite hit the mark. The vegetable selection wasn’t very appealing, and the meat was chewy.

In my photo, the spread looks great, but in reality, the flavors are lacking. The broth—I got the Mala one—was quite bland and didn’t add much to the meal.

All in all, while PK Shabu offers a lot of options and fantastic service, the food could use a boost in both quality and flavor.

The worst place to go ! The atmosphere was not good at
all. It’s just like a school cafe with a lot of loudy uptempo disco music where we can hardly hear anyone talk ! They
had kept us waiting so long with a few people in a line.
The service was terrible. So is the price(35 bucks )The worst part is it is NOT Japanese style ShabuShabu!! It’s Korean food !! Only once in a
life time experience,HA !!But my
US people seemed to enjoy IT ,so I’m glad !!

I have been coming here since they opened. Unfortunately, the quality has definitely become less as the years pass. Like someone else mentioned, the flavor of the broth is lackluster and it’s not worth the $$ tbh. I know that you can customize it by adding seasonings, but starting off with a meh flavored base is… not great.

Additionally, I’m not sure what happened–maybe improper temps for the buffet components, or something, but both my husband and I got sick right after eating here. It’s never happened before, but it happened on our most recent trip.

Overall, I wish I’d have spent the $90+ elsewhere.

The quality of food has gone down hill. We went once a while back when the AC was down and the quality was good. Today we went the food was terrible and the service was bad. We ordered almost 7 different sushi rolls and only received 2 rolls after continuously reminding them. We ordered a poke bowl and the fish was still frozen and the rice was hard. (POSTED BELOW) DO NOT RECOMMEND. The hot pot quality has also gone downhill, ordered a tom yum soup base and was brought out a different soup base and just told to put tom yum powder in. The squid and intestines for the hot pot seemed very mushy and old. Everything did not taste fresh but rather frozen and old. The dirty dishes were stacked on our table and no one took it in. We ate with dirty meat and vegetable dishes on our tables. As we were eating a guy grabbed the hand roll dish from our table and brought it to the back without washing it & placed another hand roll on it and gave it to another table. We will not be coming back.
