Nice local Tavern with great customer service and good food, reasonably priced, and good atmosphere. Just be aware if you come on a Friday for the fish fry come early they run out tonight, we were literally the last two customers to have fish luckily. We will be back next time. We are in town.

Tried for the first time last night! Awesome place! Food was great and portion sizes were large for the prices. I got the Chicago Stockyard which was absolutely delicious, and of course I had to try the onion strings.
It was wonderful. Our server was attentive and focused. Food came out quickly. Really enjoyed it!

I believe this was an old jailhpuse, The decor is cool. There’s lots to look at. Bar area in front with additional area for eating in. Another room for eating. Outdoor seating. The food has always been good and the service is friendly. They also have Bloody Mary Sunday.

This is our go-to for local date nights. Food is always on point and drinks are always great! They do get busy and it is seat yourself, so sometimes you have to wait. They sometimes have live music on Fridays. During the summer/fall they have outside seating in the side patio. Definitely reccomend.

Very few times have I ever ordered a burger mid rare and received it that way. This place did not disappoint! Juices were intact and it was delicious 🙂
Service was slow however. We waited quite some time before a server helped us out, and even longer just to order.

I had a nice lunch with my mom today. So many options and we both loved what we ordered. We had a friendly server and large meals for the price. I’ll definitely go back with family and friends.

Bar staff was great and took care of our group. We stopped in for a few drinks including bloody Mary’s which were made perfectly. Great locals – cold beer – bloody’s with side car’s & staff. Great place to stop on your way to Poopy’s or Galena. Sorry can’t comment on food we only had libations.

We have been to PJ’s a few times over the years as we’ve been through Sycamore, stopping for drinks, and occasionally for a bite too. Never has complaints until the last couple of times (in the last year).
Both times we had beers and ordered food. Last night I ordered a black bean burger and my husband got a regular burger, and we both asked for tots on the side. When the food arrived, it was clear that the bean patty had been WAY overcooked, to the point the texture was hard. My husband’s burger was also overcooked—although he had ordered it medium well, it was borderline charred. We should have sent the food back, but we were tired and just wanted to finish and get home. Service here is usually good, but we found we had to wait for our server to notice us for refills, etc. even when we were waving her down.
The absolute worst thing happened when we got home. Both of us became quite sick with extreme intestinal distress and couldn’t stray far from a bathroom if you follow what I’m saying. It has been over 24 hours and I’m still not feeling well at all. My husband is doing better now.
We won’t return to PJ’s, based on the last two times making us so ill.

I really enjoy the black bean burger personalized to the way I want it. I’m not a fan of their frozen hamburger patties, so this is a nice way to have a burger with my family. The hand cut fries and onion straws are also very good! The atmosphere is perfect, nice view of downtown Sycamore and a nice outdoor patio too. The service can be very slow if you are not having alcohol.
