Much better quality than what you’d find at a Starbucks, with some Louisiana inspiration-we got our first slice of king cake for the season here!
Staff was polite and timely. Would recommend
This morning my wife and I decided to have a breakfast date. Our first choice was Another Broken Egg but it was a mad house so we left.
My wife decided she wanted to try PJ’s. She ordered a Mocha Cappuccino ☕ & a Ham & Cheese Croissant . I went for the White Chocolate Mocha Latte & Stuffed Waffle. Neither of us were impressed with anything we got. My White Mocha just tasted like the syrup without any cohesion between the milk and coffee. In fact, I couldn’t taste the espresso at all.
I’ve tried different drinks every time I’ve come but haven’t hit on anything I would order again.
I loved the inside. It was very nice and quiet. The staff was helpful and attentive. I just wished I liked the coffee better.
While PJ’s wouldn’t be my go-to coffee or breakfast place, I would go there if I needed a quiet place to get some work done.
I visited the PJ’s Coffee on Airline Drive on December 29th at 1:30 p.m. and spent over $62 on 18 beignets and two coffees. For that price, I expected a premium experience, but what I received was a complete disappointment and a total lack of professionalism.
To start, I was never offered a receipt or any change, so I honestly don’t know if I was overcharged or what the breakdown of that $62 even was. When you are paying that much for a coffee shop order, a receipt should be standard.
The value is non-existent. The beignets here are bite-sized at best, especially compared to any traditional beignet shop I have ever been to. They are extremely undersized and overpriced.
To make matters worse, the kitchen staff during this shift was completely distracted—too busy gossiping, checking their cell phones, and chatting to even count a simple order correctly. I was shorted two beignets. When I returned to have it corrected, the incompetence continued. They made me wait while they cooked two more, leaving my original box open on the counter the entire time. No one offered to replace the now-cold beignets with a fresh, hot order while I waited for them to fix their own mistake.
By the time I got home, the food was cold. Paying $60+ for tiny, cold portions and distracted service—without even being given a receipt—is unacceptable. I expect a response from management regarding this experience and a clarification on the pricing.
