If you put just the right amount of pepperoni which is maybe two pieces per slice on a medium, And you cook it on a high heat fast, (And I say this because I was the last pizza of the night last night Thur)) it seems to allow the cheese to pop and not be overwhelmed by the grease of the potentially undercooked excessive amount of pepperoni.
To each his own I say as some people love a lot of pepperoni, I do too but only if it’s cooked separately and the grease is drained. Nobody wants a soggy pizza with undercooked pepperoni.
Update: The image below is not like Thur night. 2/8/26 Crust to thin, not enough cheese, pepperoni melted through, pepperoni not crispy. Photos add 10lbs lol
Update: 2/14/26 Dough spread out to thin. Burnt and pepperoni still melted through despite asking for light pep to avoid this. Please make thicker with adequate cheese so light pepperoni is cooked even and uniform w/o melting through thin burnt crust…Thank you!)
That being said, I really like their pizza. I lived in Naples twice, for a total of 6 1/2 years so I rarely order American pizza. Pizzicato is right around the corner so it’s convenient. I really like this pizza. I have tried a bunch of them but recently I have settled on the Pepperoni Supreme, it is a winner. I also added extra pepperoni and it was delicious.
Bottom line is they serve a good pizza, you just have to make sure you plan to be there well before their “closing” time.
So I ordered a slice of the combo pizza and arugula pear salad.
Both were really good! Salad had plenty of blue cheese and candied walnuts. Pizza was spot on too.
After I finished those I noticed the special changes at 2pm, “Beer and a slice for $6.95”.. so I ordered that next.
Second slice was broccolini sausage and hazelnut…also very good! Beer was a Fort George suicide squeeze IPA; also tasty.
Add in a great location and cool interior..made for an enjoyable experience for $15.20 before tip. (2 slices a salad and a beer for $15.20!:)
Had it been a thin crust pizza, it would have made the experience better
The location in the Pearl District, was a perfect setting for a casual evening out.
