The latest from acclaimed Chef Marc Vetri, Pizzeria Salvy borrows its name from Marc’s beloved father, Sal. “My father has been at the center of everything when it comes to my restaurant career,” says Marc. “From the meatballs to the family meals he has made for the last 25 years, it’s only fitting that we dedicate this project to him. Pizzeria Salvy offers a curated selection of 12-inch pizzas, as well as Philly style slices at lunch. Salads, seasonal vegetables, and (of course) Sal’s Meatballs round out a menu inspired by heritage and heart, family and Philadelphia.

Booked pizzeria Salvy for a valentines dinner and felt a bit embarrassed after for picking this over all the selection in Philly!

My main issue is the location / decor of the restaurant. It’s in the basement of the Comcast building and as you approach the restaurant it’s like being in the underground level of a mall. I feel like the restaurant could do more to make their section more intimate by having shutters around but instead you just see this open basement.

We ordered the chopped salad, sals meatballs and fiorella sausage and peppers. The chopped salad sadly was not good and we ended up leaving most of it – had a super bitter taste. The meatballs were really great, wished ordered two instead of the salad. Pizza was okay, but honestly nothing to write home about.

We did see Marc Vetri come in and make some pizzas towards the end which was pretty cool!

Overall, I’d only recommend this restaurant if you work in the building. Excited to try some of Marc’s other locations but this just wasn’t it for an evening meal.

Amazing pizza and great service!
I had such a lovely experience at this pizzeria in Philadelphia. The server was super kind, flexible, and very attentive the whole time. The pizza was absolutely delicious, you can tell everything is made fresh right there, even the ice cream! The ice cream was also fantastic, and we even got a little surprise treat with it, which was such a nice touch. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and warm service!

An unexpected location! The pizza was outstanding, with a casual vibe elevated by finesse in true Vetri style. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, and the cocktails we tried were excellent. Definitely a spot worth seeking out.

It is a hidden treasure in the downtown. The food was just perfect, the level of service as well, there was no problem at all with accomodating our request for some tweaks on the pizza. We even got some extra delicious biscuits to our gelato and both of them were top level.

Best pizza in the city. The secret to really good pizza is the crust and this one is divine. Already reserved a table for my next meal

Some incredible pizza, bites, cocktails, dessert and wine that was impressive from beginning to end. Marc Vetri can’t do cute and casual even if he wanted to. It’s GRAND and COMFORT⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This restaurant celebrates the culinary legacy of Vetri’s beloved father, Sal. What a touching tribute to a chef who inspired a living legend ❤️

A hidden gem in the Comcast building. If this restaurant was anywhere else there’d be a line out the door.
We’ve loved every meal we’ve had here from their phenomenal tomato pie, meatballs, and of course the star of the show the extraordinary pizzas. A little taste of Italy in the heart of Center City.

I’ve eaten here several times. Never had a dish that wasn’t fantastic. The Foccacia appetizer on special, the zucchini pizza, and the clam pizza….. blew me away. Definitely recommend.

The pizza was amazing. I especially liked the clam pie. The marinara was also good i love a yellow tomato with the garlic was delicious. The dough was good and loved how thin they made the pizza. Will go back to try out other items on the menu as well.

Great margharita pizza and house (Philly cheesesteak) calzone. Friendly and nice staff made for a great stop for an inviting sit down or take out. It’s confusing from the map at first that it’s downstairs in a high rise building, but the escalator promptly takes you there, and a security guard will kindly key you in to the location. Flavors are tasty. I’d stop in again for sure.
