I’ve got mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, they do make custom “pizza by the slice” and they do make it to order. Comes out hot and tastes decent. But since they make it in the form of a diamond and cut it in half, instead of crust on one side of the triangle, you now have crust on two of the long sides.
If you like crust, great. I don’t.
I also thought it was overpriced. They do put on a lot of toppings so it kinda makes up for it. So yeah, mixed feelings.

I recently tried Pizza Lucca’s vegan options and everything was delicious! They offer two specialty vegan pizzas—the Vegan Meatza and the Vegan Mediterranean—both only available in a 12-inch size but bursting with flavor. We also tried the Lucca Vegan Meatball sandwich, which was absolutely delightful. Alongside these, we ordered a non-vegan veggie pizza, which was equally scrumptious. It’s fantastic to find a place that caters so well to vegan diners without compromising on taste. I’m definitely considering ordering from here more often. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality vegan options!

Great little hole in the wall pizza place! The “slice” is available all day and is a quarter of a 16″ pizza made fresh to order. The only downside to this place is the lack of any real seating. There is one small table that might seat four at best, a counter that seats 2-3 and another table for one. Definitely check it out for take out though if you are looking for some seriously delicious thin crust pizza!

I’m from Iowa and have know this great owner for some time. He has a passion for all things pizza, pasta, wings and more and I am so happy I stopped. I had a pepperoni and sausage slice and it was amazing! The homemade sauce is crazy good and you won’t find a better tasting sausage or crust around. Continued success to you amd your staff Ross!

I ordered for delivery, so did not have any experience with their service or atmosphere. But the pizza I had was definitely 5-star! I ordered the Boss’ton (sausage, sauerkraut, green peppers, onion). Probably the first time having sauerkraut on a pizza, and it was revelatory. It doesn’t make the pizza taste super-krauty, but it does brighten up the overall flavor and adds some texture that I found to be very nice. I can’t wait to order it again, it was delicious. And I’m also super curious about their meatball and Italian beef sandwiches after reading the rave reviews!

I’m gonna go ahead and add to these 5* reviews because they deserve them! We ordered at least 3 times back to back. The owner recognized me on the 2nd visit, which I appreciated. The pizza is always fresh, looks AMAZING, tastes GREAT, AND THE OWNER HANDS YOU YOUR FOOD WITH PRIDE! Oh! Yes, vegan sausage (soy) and vegan cheese (non soy ) available. One of my visits, there was a young man doing homework and eating pizza. It was a picturesque moment of a student after school hanging at the pizza spot. The prices are decent, too. Even though I do carry out, I made sure to tip because of the quality service and food.
The photos are the first visit. Each visit after has been just as beautiful and tasty. I ordered without cheese, just to see how flavorful the sauce was. The sauce was SO flavorful, I did not miss cheese. Mind = BLOWN. The owner put me on to “fried peppers.” When I tell you they add heat?!? So delicious! They are the peppers on the non-cheese pizza in the photos. Fresh veggies. Fresh basil! We love the crust. Crispy, chewy, and yummy! This place is worth it. Awesome location, tables and chairs to eat in, cute window seating, and super cool vibe. Seriously, give them some of your time and money.
3.2.24 UPDATE: Back again… THEY DO NOT MISS! This is what you call CONSISTENCY! Today was a cheese pizza with Italian seasonings and light white onion on half. They NAILED it! No need to request extra cheese or well done. This is real pizza.

Been coming here for over two years now and it’s one of the best kept secrets in the Mpls pizza scene. Introduced a coworker to the off-menu hot honey pepperoni and he’s obsessed. Every week for the past two months he’s been like “Hot honey pep?” when I walk in the door, and even though we just had it last week, how am I going to say no to such a delicious za? Leoparding is perfect, sauce is zesty, cheese and toppings are abundant, crust is almost cracker crispy. Plus if you go with a big slice you get an extra handle on the outside edges, I’ve never seen anyone else do that and I’m a crust slut so I love it! Easily my favorite slice in Mpls. Ross is a real pizza lover who’s obsessed with his craft. He’s even updated me on how he’s improved his dough prep and it’s made the crust better than ever. If you haven’t been yet, or it’s been awhile, stop doing yourself a disservice and get over to Lucca!

This used to be one of our favorite pizza spots, but due to yesterday evening’s order, I’m unsure if we’ll be visiting this place again. We ordered the garlic cheese bread, which was always some of the best we’ve had, and the St. Louie pizza. The garlic cheese bread was still really good, but the pizza not so much. Upon opening the box, we questioned if they made us the wrong pizza as the pizza looked quite different than previous orders. There was an abundance of pepperoni and sausage loaded on top with no green peppers and onions in sight. There ended up being maybe a sprinkle of green peppers and onions as we looked at the slices. Typically there is also cheese on top with the toppings following in the middle and bottom (pretty accurate of what the pictures of the pizzas look like on the website). The crust was also quite different than previous orders. The texture was much tougher and chewier and tasted like a completely different dough and/or the dough was old when used. The crust on these pizzas used to be more soft and definitely fresh. We’re not sure if they changed their pizza techniques or dough recipe, but this was not it and not good. Maybe this was one-off if they have some newer folks making the pizzas, but our return to Pizzeria Lucca is questionable.

I love love love the pizza. Everything is made fresh to order. Only takes 5 minutes to get a slice if it’s not busy. I would eat it every day. Best pizzas, pastas and hoagies in St Louis Park

Overall the pizzas are really good. The toppings are fresh and well proportioned. The only thing that didn’t really hit the spot was the crust. It was more like a thick, sponge like cracker with toppings. Lacked a good pull or good flavor. Would still stop in for the big slices.
