Fabulous pizza and wings – fun wine list. Unfortunately I can’t eat Mozzerella but this place has a pizza designed not to have it. The tomato pie with pepperoni and hot Italian sausage and romano cheese was delightful – I will 100% be back.

We tried Alfreda while we were staying nearby and we loved it! They have a great, crispy but chewy crust, awesome ingredients and a high end sauce. Throw in a nice atmosphere and an awesome staff and this place was a big win. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Alfreda is a great little spot in Dupont Circle with some seriously impressive pizza. The dough was incredible — light, flavorful, and the kind you actually want to savor on its own. We tried the fig pizza (about $26) and it was excellent — the fig flavor was balanced and not overpowering, making for a really well-done combination.

A couple of notes: there’s an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, and since the restaurant is on the smaller side, reservations may be needed if you’re coming with a group of 6 or more. That said, it’s a cozy, casual location that works perfectly for a quick date night or catching up with a friend over quality pizza.

The food is TOP TIER in Washington DC. Legit the best pizza I’ve had and I’ve lived in the greater DC area for 17 years now. Definitely recommend, the drinks were very good too. Definitely order the potato pizza, it’s very unique and insanely good.

The service was eh, our waitress was super nice and friendly but was the only server for the entire dining room (on a Saturday night). This can definitely be improved. But I understand it’s very hard to balance budget with adequate service as a small business..

In terms of the atmosphere, the restaurant looks amazing, it’s what you expect in a neighborhood pizza shop in DC. The music should definitely be louder tho, there were times where you could hear every conversation going on in the restaurant. I think they could improve the lighting aesthetic too. Just opinion

Great thin crust pizza! Lovely service and decent speed! Their tiramisu was also nice and good portion size. Ask for their pie of the day or season. I was surprised with garbanzo beans based appetizers in their menu! It was pretty much like an Indian dish but tasted well!

I can’t say enough good things about Alfredo’s. From the moment you walk in, the smell of fresh dough and simmering sauce lets you know you’re in for a treat.
Why I Love It:
• The Crust: It’s the perfect balance of crispy and chewy. It holds up to the toppings without being too heavy.
• Quality Ingredients: You can tell they don’t skimp on the cheese, and the sauce has that perfect touch of sweetness and herbs.
• The Vibe: The staff is incredibly friendly and fast. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or ordering a few pies for a party, they always make you feel welcome.
It’s easily my go-to spot in the neighborhood. If you haven’t tried their signature Alfreda or the white pizza yet, you are seriously missing out!

Alfreda, a newcomer to the city’s vibrant culinary scene, is making waves with its innovative approach to classic pizza. Chef Russel Smith, a renowned figure in the gastronomic world, has curated a menu that showcases his mastery of flavors and textures. The restaurant’s specialty lies in its gourmet pizzas, which are crafted on a foundation of delectable sourdough bread, adding a tantalizing depth to each bite.

During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in one of Alfreda’s signature pizzas, and I must say, it was a revelation. The crust, with its perfect balance of crispness and chewiness, served as a canvas for a harmonious blend of toppings. The fresh, locally-sourced ingredients sang in harmony, creating a symphony of flavors that left me craving more.

To complement the pizza, I sampled one of Alfreda’s fresh salads, which proved to be a delightful counterpoint. The salad was a masterful composition, featuring the briny bite of Castelvetrano olives, the crunch of toasted pine nuts, and the bright, zesty notes of a lemon-chili vinaigrette. The greens were crisp and vibrant, and the dressing elevated the dish to new heights, creating a perfect balance of flavors that danced on the palate.

Alfreda’s dedication to the simplicity and sophistication of great food is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. The restaurant’s inviting atmosphere and attentive service create an ambiance that encourages patrons to linger and savor each moment. I highly recommend a visit to Alfreda for anyone looking to indulge in a truly exceptional dining experience.

We were blown away by the food—everything from the pies to the appetizers feels thoughtfully crafted and seriously delicious. The specialty slices are legit standouts, and the persimmon pie in particular was incredible—sweet, balanced, and totally unique.
Don’t sleep on the starters either; they’re just as impressive as the mains and show the same attention to flavor and detail.
On top of the great food, the staff is friendly, welcoming, and just genuinely cool. Alfreda has the kind of vibe that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left. Highly recommend

Alfreda delivered the closest experience to true Italian pizza that I have found in DC (or anywhere in the U.S.). The pizza was simple, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I would order it again in a heartbeat. The Caesar salad was very well balanced, fresh, and generously portioned, which made it a perfect companion to the meal.
The bartender was outstanding and made me feel extremely welcome from the moment I sat down. She even crafted her own version of an Old Fashioned, and it was incredible. The warmth of the service matched the quality of the food, which made the entire visit memorable.
Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great Italian flavors, genuine hospitality, and a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience.
